Radius Hawthorne

Radius Hawthorne is an aged care facility nestled down a quiet cul-de-sac in Bryndwr, featuring well maintained gardens and is close to amenities. There are four wings which provide dementia level D6 care, as well as hospital and rest home level care. The nurses are fantastic, knowledgable and focused on the resident's wellbeing. The Healthcare Assistants who help with toileting, showering, meals and much more are so caring and I learned many of them come from nursing backgrounds! The management staff are all nurses and really look after their team and importantly genuinely care about the residents too. There is a fantastic physio on site and the DTs Diversional Therapists are incredible and have so much energy, plan and facilitate activities on a daily basis. Radius Hawthorne really does provide exceptional care for our ageing loved ones, showing respect, kindness and providing therapeutic relationships to all residents.

My father was a resident at this facility for 6 months. The care from all staff was exceptional. I was often there when lunch the main meal of the day was served and it always looked and Dad said tasted like a home cooked meal. Dad enjoyed his outings, the gym and the Happy Hour session on a Friday. This facility became his home. I would have no hesitation in recommending this facility to people who need care.

I am currently the maintenance person at radius Hawthorne. Although as with any workplace things could be improved , in my opinion Radius Hawthorne stands apart due to its strong family ethics towards residents and staff.nI have worked in various fields in the past but have rarely come across such a friendly and empathetic bunch of people.nOf course some things could be better but the difference is...we know that and we will always try.nI work here because I want to, not because I have to.nPaul.

My husband Fred Middleton was a resident in Dementia hospital level care Victoria Wing for the last 3 years at Radius Hawthorne. I have nothing but admiration for all staff of Victoria. My husband has passed away just recently and total respect goes to all the staff at Radius Hawthorne . After more than 2 months of volunteering, I was thrilled to receive a job offer in the healthcare field. While transitioning into my new role, I found myself drawing on my personal experiences, particularly the challenging journey of caring for my father during his illness over the past five years. This background gave me a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the complexities of caregiving.nIn my new position, I embraced the responsibility of providing personal care to residents with determination and compassion. Treating them as if they were my own family came naturally to me. I took pride in my work, knowing that each task performed with care made a difference in their lives.nHowever, working in healthcare also came with its emotional toll, especially when faced with the loss of a resident. I vividly remember John Robinson a kind-hearted man who always greeted me with a smile whenever I started a conversation with him.Despite his condition, he retained his sharp memory and gentle demeanor. Our conversations were a highlight of my day, and his passing hit me hard.nThe loss of John felt like losing a second father all over again. The emotional bond formed through our interactions made his passing deeply impactful. It was a reminder of the profound connections we forge in healthcare, and the emotional toll that comes with caring deeply for those we serve. Despite the challenges, I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of residents like John, and I carry their memories with me as a testament to the meaningful work we do in healthcare.nnLooking ahead, I am excited about the prospect of joining the Radius Care team and continuing to provide high-quality care to individuals in need. I believe that my experiences in home care have prepared me well for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, and I am eager to contribute to the ongoing success of the Radius Care.
