St Albans Medical Centre

I've never had a bad experience here, neither from reception staff nor the medical team nurses and doctors, so I'm surprised at the relatively large number of negative reviews left here. I've always found the team here fantastic, from the front desk to the doctors/nurses desks! Yes, waiting times can occasionally go over your scheduled appointment times but I've found that to be the case at every GP clinic I've ever gone to all over the country, so it's not a particularly unique occurrence! I wouldn't hesitate recommending St Albans Medical Centre to anyone planning on signing up/enrolling, they're stellar.

How to give less than 1 star. Google needs to give us a option to show how bad was it.nMe and my partner walked in to this place with our sick kid twice and both times we got kicked out. We are working in hospo so we understand how it's like to talk to customers specially patients. Reception ladies were extremely rude and very ignorant. I'm just trying to find a place to get some medicine for my sick kid , at least show some sympathy. I was very sad and disappointed I almost wanted to cry. I can't talk about the doctors as I never got a chance to get through to them from those cold-hearted receptionist. We are very new in Christchurch and found most of the places are like this. It's almost felt like they didn't wanted this new random people walking in to their kingdom. Very sad sorry if anyone else had to go through this experience.

Have been seeing Dr Gillespie for about 16 years. He genuinely cares, will never prescribe anything that will harm me down line, and is very professional. The reviews below are now redundant as reception staff have greatly improved in the last year or so. Thanks Dr G!

I have had Dr Morrison as a GP for some years now , there is no need to change. He is both compassionate and extremely able as both physician and person . I never feel rushed and he has come through for me on personal issues time after time .nnHis nurse is absolutely terrific and the centres staff first class .nnI cannot recommend St Albans medical centre highly enough !

As a former patient at this Medical centre.I was not happy with the way in which I was treated by the practice nurse.She spoke to me in a condescending manner.I was 10 mins late for an apt one day consider that I often waited an hour to see my doctor I was struggling with my heart condition which was the reason for my lateness.I was yelled at by the nurse who then said I couldn't see the doctor.There was no sympathy or understanding. I ended up in tears in front of others actually it was appalling.i have since moved to another practice and the care there is outstanding .
