Went in for something stuck in throat, possible fish bone. No pain, eating/drinking fine but discomfort when swallowingnnWait time was long but that's fine. Got an x-ray maybe an hour in not much was said other than 'if it's a fish bone it may not show up' , waited another while and got seen by a triage nurse who was nice she had a look, saw nothing. Insisted my throat was probably just scratched to which I reiterated that I could feel it with my finger. Nothing else was done, Sent back to wait again. 4 hours later seen by nurse to say there's 'nothing showing on the x-ray, nothing we can do sorry. See your GP.' blatantly said I was wrong. Once again she said it's probably just scratched, she didn't even ask to have another look down my throat or anything! If it's a scratch why could I feel it? With my finger?nUseless. I put it down to being almost 2am and they just did not care about my issue at that stage. So they sent me home.nWaste of $80! Waste of almost 5 hours of time.nnWent home and had a crack at getting it again myself. Took a bit but lo and behold! a fishbone! Stuck in my throat! Wow! DO BETTER.n2 stars simply for the niceness of the triage nurse
My visit last night exceeded my expectations. I was told a 5 hr wait, that was fine it was busy, ended up being seen, x-rays and sorted with crutches within 3.5 hours. Every staff member was exemplary in their level of care, from security, reception, and a most welcome cup of tea from health care assistant, so appreciated!. Special mention to Nurse Tyler, Doctor Rachel and the radiographer who saw me, all provided exceptional service.
We came in around 1pm today, the wait time was quite high, but understandable! I just was so impressed with how lovely the triage nurse was that was working behind the desk. She was a very kind, bubbly, and attentive blonde lady, and she spoke to everyone with such kindness and warmth. Even took the time to address the room and apologize about how the waiting times were longer than expected. Just felt the need to give her some much deserved praise
If I could give 0 stars, I would to them.nThis practice is a joke. I waited 8 hours for them to slap a cheap bandage on my wound and hand me a $100 bill. No real care, no urgency, nothing but wasted time and money. Absolutely ridiculous. Don’t bother coming here unless you enjoy being ignored all day and overcharged for the bare minimum. There was patient sitting with bleeding head injury for hours, meanwhile someone waited 9 hours for getting told its nothing - meanwhile the person couldnt walk and have bruised leg muscles.nThey sent me nurse to nurse during these 8 hours where the very first nurse could have bandaged it and send me home but rather I was asked to go to 3 different nurses. A lovely fellow in the end intervened and sent me home looking how little effort was needed for such a wait. It was a deep cut on my finger in 8 hours the bleeding stopped itself. They should be ashamed of calling themselves health professionals. It’s just a front show of busy patient count but so many people waiting for 8 plus hours with no proper patient management. The back end however is quiet and chill, free beds and most nurses only doing admin stuff. I feel for front end triage nurse.nIf you can help it, dont come here.
While the medical service at Pegasus Health 24 Hour Surgery was prompt and efficient, I was blindsided by an $82 fee for their A&E service. I understand fees exist, but the lack of clear communication is unacceptable. Apparently, there are signs indicating this, but who reads signs when they're injured and seeking immediate care? The staff should inform patients about potential charges upfront at the reception desk. When I raised this issue, my concerns were dismissed. Good service is important, but transparency about costs is essential.
