We had a great experience with Traveller’s Autobarn Christchurch overall! What an awesome way to see New Zealand. The check-in process was smooth and straightforward, with friendly staff who made sure we were ready to hit the road. Throughout the trip, they were very communicative and promptly addressed an issue we had on the road, which gave us peace of mind. While the camper van was comfortable and reliable, I recommend thoroughly checking all the equipment before heading out - we discovered we were missing some pieces to set up the bed. That said, the team handled the situation professionally and refunded us a full night to make up for it. Despite the minor hiccup, the service and support made our trip enjoyable, and we’d rent from them again!

My focus was on finding a company that excelled in vehicle reliability, cleanliness, and customer service. With only two weeks to explore, I needed a company I could trust. After comparing reviews and analyzing competitors, it was clear that Travellers Autobarn was the best choice. I wasn’t wrong!nnPre Pick-Up:nBefore pick-up, we received a pre-check-in email that sped up the process on the day of collection. The email also provided detailed instructions about how the campervan worked, which was incredibly helpful. At pick-up, the staff reinforced this information and provided additional reminders and tips, which proved invaluable during our trip.nnVehicle Pick-Up:nThe pick-up process was seamless. The staff member who assisted us was incredibly professional, explaining everything in detail and providing useful tips to ensure our trip was as enjoyable as possible.nnCleanliness:nThe cleanliness of the vehicle exceeded all expectations. The camper was spotless, smelled fresh, and everything was impeccably prepared. The fridge was clean, the dishes and cutlery were ready to use, and they even provided extras like dishwashing liquid and a sponge—everything you could possibly need.nnEquipment:nThe linens and towels provided were fresh and smelled like new. The attention to detail in their preparation made us feel comfortable and cared for throughout the trip.nnVehicle Performance:nThe van performed perfectly. I had read some comments about a lack of power on uphill roads, but I suspect those reviewers either weren’t familiar with driving such vehicles or didn’t know about kickdown. For us, the van handled every challenge with ease.nnCustomer Service:nWe encountered a minor issue with the stove, so I sent an email for assistance. Within 30 minutes, I received a call from their customer service team. A friendly representative walked me through the solution via Zoom. They even offered to reimburse us for purchasing a portable stove in case the issue recurred—such a quick response and level of care are truly invaluable.nnVehicle Return:nThe return process was just as smooth and pleasant as the pick-up. Everything was handled quickly and professionally.nnSummary:nIf you’re traveling halfway across the world for a two-week holiday, you want your trip to be as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. Travellers Autobarn ensures exactly that. And in the rare case that an issue arises, their team resolves it swiftly and efficiently. If every campervan rental company operated like Travellers Autobarn, the world would undoubtedly be a better place.nnHighly recommended!

My trip with Autobarn was so amazing. It was the best trip of my life travelling through New Zealand. The van was so perfect for getting around the island and I cannot wait to come back. The van was perfect for my solo travels. I was able to cook and work from online while being extremely comfortable. I cannot recommend this company enough. I will 100% be back.

READ YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE PAYING ANYTHING!nnTA is probably great if you're lucky enough to get a decent van, but for those who aren't, you'd be left out of pocket and with a ruined holiday.nWe got a van that had an external leak so the inside got wet when it rained; another crack in the water inlet so it also got wet inside when you filled the water tank; missing mirrors; mouldy interiors; and in general poorly-maintained cooking gear. These things could probably be overlooked on a short weekend trip, but we were on the road for 4 weeks, and half the time we slept with wet pillows and could not use the sink and tap due to the leakage.nTA's customer service to their credit was very prompt in their response, but the pros ends there. The contract apparently states that you have to drive to one of their two locations to get anything fixed, and they will only recompense you for the time it takes to fix it 1-2 hours, essentially ~$10 and not the gas, work and time it takes for you to get there, which could mean a multiple-day delay to your itinerary. All this for a fault in the van that is out of your control.nI did eventually get a satisfactory resolution with the customer team, but this was after a lot of frustration with an unsympathetic team, during which I was accused of making deliberate trouble for a cheap holiday. Not the best experience and wouldn't recommend.nnThis trip was taken in Sept-Oct 2024.

Nine days driving the Kuga Campervan from Travellers Autobarn in the South Island of New Zealand with my boyfriend was epic! This trip started and finished in Christchurch, and we visited so many different places! We drove straight to Kaikoura and Marlborough, headed to Wanaka, Mount Cook, Queenstown and Glenorchy, followed by Gibbston Valley, Dunedin, and Oamaru.nnThe Campervan was very clean and fully equipped with all the essentials to keep us comfortable throughout the trip, making it feel like a little home. It included pillows, bed sheets, sleeping bags, kitchenware, a heater which ended up being super useful in Kaikoura , outdoor chairs, a table, and enough room to store our belongings. The Kuga Campervan provided us with the best breakfast spots, campsites, scenic roads, and memories close to nature. We had the best time in New Zealand. nnTraveling in a Kuga Campervan offered the flexibility to explore diverse destinations at our own pace while enjoying the comforts of home on the road. And, it fostered a unique connection with nature, other fellow Travellers Autobarns, and local communities, enhancing the overall travel experience. We definitely recommend Travellers Autobarn and their Campervans, particularly the Kuga Campervan which ended up being the perfect size for us! We can’t wait to be back in New Zealand and explore everything we couldn’t this time!
