I want to share a recent experience. My son was referred for an immunology appointment in October 2023, and we assumed he was on the waiting list. However, since it’s been almost a year with no updates, I contacted Wecare Wigram yesterday to check the status. The staff reviewed the records and informed me that the referral had been declined because it was incorrectly sent to the adult clinic. Actually the feedback from the hospital was given back in the same month- October 2023, but no one informed me, nor was the referral resent to the children’s department.nnToday, I visited a GP to ask about getting the referral sent to the correct department for my son. The GP said she could resend the referral but warned it might be declined again since it’s not considered an urgent request. I explained that it is important for us to get the results, but she kept repeating her point. I told her that I simply want the referral sent to the correct department, especially since we’ve already waited nearly a year. This time, we want to be notified of any feedback from the hospital.nnHopefully, the GP will send it to the children’s department this time. However, this experience has been very frustrating for us. I’m not sure what’s happening within our health system. I understand the challenges of limited medical resources, but at the very least, such operational issues should be avoided.
Always able to get an appointment on the day needed as a casual patient, the online booking system is fast and easy to use. Handy that its open on weekends when our local doctor is not. Each nurse we have seen here has been helpful and they always go the extra mile to make sure my boy is well looked after. Reception is always friendly and welcoming too.
I had a very nice experience my family and I love how respectful and welcoming the receptionists are. The doctors and nurses are lovely aswell. Have not yet come across a doctor or nurse that does not listen to my needs
The best medical experience I have ever had in NZ! Super efficient and professional staffs especially the receptionist. The facilities are nice tidy and clean.nI just move to chc not long ago, so I haven't enrolled clinic here. I was trying to enrolled with another clinic closer to where I live a few days ago. But they said they are not open to enroll new patient. At Wecare I thought they can take walk-in patients so I came here without an appointment. And the lovely receptionist told me the walk in services only provide to enrolled patient and they can enroll me right now!nnThe reception lady was super friendly and professional. She quickly helped me with enrollment and put me waiting list. Only 5 minutes later I can see the doctor! Never have such fast and warm GP experience before.
Here’s the edited review to reflect that the billing issue was resolved:nn---nnMy partner and I recently enrolled at this clinic, and while the enrollment process and online appointment booking were straightforward, our recent experience left us initially disappointed. I booked a “quick care” consultation for $25 for my partner, which supposedly includes an assessment and treatment by a “highly trained” nurse, all in one visit. However, when my partner arrived, the nurse initially stated she would see her, asked my partner to sit outside, only to then have a doctor take over unexpectedly. My partner was quickly told it was just a common cold, which is fine, but we were baffled as to why the nurse couldn’t handle this straightforward case as advertised.nnThere was an issue at checkout when my partner was charged $60 instead of the $25 we had booked for. We never requested or booked a comprehensive check-up that costs more. Moreover, the clinic’s website states that a treatment pack, which might include pain relief or other necessary medications, would be provided, but my partner received nothing.nnAfter bringing this billing issue to the clinic’s attention, it was resolved quickly. While we appreciate the swift response, we hope the clinic can improve its communication to prevent similar misunderstandings in the future.
