Our mother was unsure about moving into a Village environment, fiercely independent she had doubts that this was what she wanted. Our meeting with the Sales Co-Ordinator was relaxed and provided all the information Mum needed. She was immediately put at ease and any doubts she had were quickly forgotten. From the legal side of the purchase to the physical shift everything was done with ease and according to plan. The Village were up front about where things were at and kept Mum well informed as to refurbishment. Mum is now settling into Village life and enjoying the interaction with staff and other village residents. Our family is grateful for the care and kindness shown to Mum in what was quite a stressful time and so thankful she has found a place where she is happy and receives the level of care she currently needs.
We have been here for just over 6 months now and have settled in well. The Village is run very well - overseen by Gail Facility Manager who is always available to discuss any ideas or queries. Sharryn Pidgeon was our initial contact when viewing the Village and she was very helpful in organising the unit we chose and answering our many questions prior to purchasing.nThe Village residents are friendly and welcoming and the surroundings are pleasant with well tended colourful gardens.
The Community/peoplennThe management, residents and staff are extremely caring, supportive and friendly. They work hard to accommodate the individual needs of each resident to enable independent living. The community work together to assist those who are finding it more difficult. maybe add any other relevant featuresnnThe Units and services providednnThe units are renovated in neutral tones before each new tenant moves in. They have a lovely sense of space with high ceilings and a large bay window, which allows natural light to flood into the living area. Rates, Unit insurance and maintenance of outside windows, lawns and gardens are provided for in the weekly payment. The tenants are responsible for contents insurance, power, phone and broadband. All Unit residents are provided with an Securely alarm in case of emergencies. The cost is included in the weekly payments.nnActivitiesnnA Community Centre enables the Unit resident to enjoy organised activities. We have an excellent Village Committee, who work extremely hard to ensure there is a variety of activities for the residents to choose from and are always open to suggestions. Weekly activities include exercise, knit and natter, book club, bowls, happy hour and board games. Every Friday evening the residents get together and enjoy and meal of fish and chips or, alternatively, you can bring your own. Then there the monthly activities of going out together for a lunch, housie, afternoon teas and pot luck meals.
I know l made the right decision to come to this little village.l absolutely love the lifestyle here. Everyone is so friendly and caring. The people here accept you for who you are, as we all come from different walks of life. People can join in the activities they offer here if they wish, there is no pressure to do so.nI just love it here.nJanet Gorringe
I moved into Paulger Courts Village 4 months ago and have to say it is the best move I have ever made. The village and my unit is lovely and all the staff are so helpful and obliging. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone considering a retirement village.
