Golden Mile Motel & Tavern

Stopped in for a quick meal which it was indeed. Couldn't finish it all so didn't get to test dessert I'm afraid. Rugby NZ & Argentina were playing so bar was occupied while we were the only ones having dinner. Very quiet but suited us. No smoke smell thank goodness. Service was polite, smiley and quick. Very nice meal. Will return, yet again!

Great place to stay for truckies like me. Can be a bit noisy at night so if you don't mind wearing earplugs while sleeping then it's an option to have.nnThe rooms are nice clean and basic andnThe hosts are marvellous people. You have the option to walk across to the pub for tea or just have a beer 1,2,3,4,5 or 6nnCheers, Golden Mile.

Me and my whānau have been coming here for years now and always feels like home when we are having a kai here. Amazing menu and priced even better. The customer service is great the music makes you fell like your at your grandparents house eating home baking lol.We have twins under 2years old and it caters great to them as the play area is within arms reach. First thing I noticed when I opened the door to our room was how clean it was. The shower floor was shiny as well as the kitchen sink, the room smelt like a new car. Also, it was really warm and I appreciated the beds had more than just the duvet throw on the bed as it was a chilly night. Ordered dinner from the tavern next door, lovely fresh meals & deserts....really enjoyed the prawn cocktail! Next time we’re down south we’ll definitely be stopping here again!

This is my new favorite restaurant. We started with the garlic bread, which was so soft and doughy. The apricot chicken snitzel was lovely and my friend ordered the steak which was perfect. We topped it off with sticky date pudding.. yum! Very reasonable cost wise. Can't wait to go again.
