Stayed a few times and is now like coming home. Peaceful, clean, ,quiet. Great facilities to self cater. Hosts a wealth of up to date information. Very friendly.Rooms: 5/5

One of my favorite hostels I've ever stayed in! The couple taking care of this place are so helpful! Very clean, very flexible. Allen even offered to drive me to the bus station. Very chill atmosphere, which is nice when you're tired of staying at party hostels like I am. Also the backyard is absolutely beautiful. 10/10 would stay.

It's a very lovely, peaceful place. Owners are polite, friendly, caring and helpful. They have two awesome French housekeepers, who were really good company. I stayed here more than 7 weeks. If you are looking for a chilled hostel, this is your place. If your looking for party, I would recommend not to come here.

A clean and tidy, very calm and relaxing Hostel! Lovely and helpful Hosts made my stay joyful. FREE laundry! And enough space in the beautiful and inviting garden to relax in the sun while waiting for the clothes to get dry : My bed was comfy and the 3-Bed room had enough space for the luggage. Good equipped kitchen, clean and organised, even like the older but still good! bathrooms : There is also free off-street-parking besides the house available. Such a lovely hostel. We only stayed for one night but would have been very happy to stay longer. The owner Alan makes you feel right at home. Very quiet, perfect if you want to avoid the party hostels. Highly recommend.

A quiet and wonderful home-style backpackers. The hosts, Alan and Keiko, are lovely and welcoming. The garden is gorgeous, and the rooms and facilities well kept. Definitely recommend staying, and will come back again!

There is a wonderful hostel in Christchurch. That's a lovely hose and gently owner who told us best route for our road trip. Thank you so much! I would come back and stay again in there some day.

The most adorable couple with their cat Melody. So polite, ridiculously helpful. We had a flight the next day and they made everything so painless. Booked us a shuttle to the airport and we had no problems at all. Thanks again, Alan, Keiko and Melody.

Disliked everything. Do NOT believe the positive reviews on hostelbookers. There is a house cat, with multiple feeding bowls around the house smelly and kitty litter right outside guests rooms v. smelly... staff were v unfriendly, there was cat hair in the rooms and on the furniture, the whole house stank like cat piss not even joking. Felt like we were staying at some random old guy's house and felt like we weren't welcome. defintely do NOT stay here. stayed here dec 2014

Lovely house with a lovely garden. Alan & Keiko are wonderful hosts. The place is clean, spacious and comfortable. Felt very homely too. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.
