Yamaha Drive In theatre is the best night out for a family you can get. Two screens, snack bar, children's play ground and great people with very friendly service. NOW about their REAL STEAL and CHROME car show, WOW, what a show $5 per adult and children free. Otherwise let the pictures tell you.
The idea is great, but a couple of things. First when you book online the only option is to pay by the carload, which is $40 per car. However when you show up to the gate there is an option to pay per adult - this is $15 per person, so cheaper if you are going in a pair. Not a huge deal but good to know. Second thing is when you book, they say you need to have a working radio. Fine. However if you have a newer car you might experience a lag in the audio. This has something to do with newer cars having digital receivers, and is obviously a known issue because when I asked about it the guy I spoke to was familiar with the issue. Apparently they sell small radios for $35 not sure why hiring them out couldn't be an option, but on the night we went these were sold out. They do have some old school speakers which you can pop into your car, but these cut out every half hour for approximately 10 minutes. They do say that these are for nostalgic purposes only though, which we understood. All in all, not the best experience as we missed about 1/3 of the movie due to audio issues. We likely would go back but will make sure we bring along a separate FM radio next time. It would be good if on the website they maybe made mention of the delay which can occur in newer vehicles, as if we'd known we would have been prepared.
Me and my family always love to come here. It's such a different feel to the cinema. Much more spacious and you can create your own comfort. I highly recommend this place for families. It's even great and unique for couples
I love the drive ins and this place but they stop making food after 9pm so don't expect a meal if you come here this time which kinda sucks because my partner and I didn't eat all day because we wanted this experience to be our dinner and leisure. Maybe stop serving food after 9:30pm at least so those who have a session at 9pm can eat as well. Overall had fun and would come again but would like to see changes to the diner.
Entry price was very reasonable. The area was clean with choice of either radio or old style speakers for movie sound. Sound quality wasn't great from speakers but radio was good. Cafe had good range however food was over priced and quality was not good. Pack yourself a meal and snacks to enjoy a retro night out.
Fantastic! The car bays have heaps of room, and the ground where you park is tilted so you can see the screen and no other car gets in your way. The screen is huge, and they only play after dark. You can also buy food.
What a fun place for families. We celebrated a birthday here and all parked next to each other. Grabbed out our camp chairs pillows and blankets took our own snacks and enjoyed the movies.
We have been twice now, fist years ago and second last weekend for fathers day. Each time it was amazing. Tune in to 99.99 fm to get sound inside your car or pull windows down and listen from pole next to your car. Best is to revearse in, open your boot, pad it with cushions and put your feet up. We saw a family having an amazing set up with dinner on their ute. Will be back for sure, little one loved it more than normal cinemas. Great family experience, something different.
Super fun night for the kids. Reverse in, leave the boot up, and pull out some camp chairs. Great idea for kids that have trouble sitting still as they don't disturb other movie goers with their movements or noise.
Fun experience but the popcorn was inedible. Full of little burnt bits. The kids had to throw it out. Bring your own treats. Also stunk from the nearby landfill but not much they could do about that I guess.
