Good cinema with reasonable ticket prices and great movie quality. The staff were friendly and helpful, and overall the experience was enjoyable. The only downside was that the atmosphere could be improved, as there was a slight unpleasant smell in some areas. Other than that, it’s a solid place to watch a movie.
Specifically chose to go and see The Odyssey at Cineplex. Arrived, purchased ticket and came back at the right time to go to the movie.nnUnfortunately because there is no assigned seating, it was a free for all. Gaps everywhere and people were just not moving, so to find 2 seats beside each other for a popular movie that was made for a large screen like this. Without staff there, it was not a plesent experience.nnTo make matters worse, when we did find seats, one was broken. We saw another pair and moved only to find that that was also broken as they sloped forward and you can’t sit through an entire movie like that. After this and seeing how many more people were trying to find seats, we decided to leave.nnThankfully the staff refunded our tickets with no issues, as well as validated our parking, so the staff were very helpful and understanding, which leads me to believe that the issue of all this falls to management and ownership.nnPlease, reinvest some money into fixing your cinema, and for large releases like this, you either need to implement assigned seating or have staff on hand instructing people to move into the middle so that more people can get in and sit with their groups.nnWe ended up seeing the movie at Event Cinema’s closer to home, which is not what we wanted as it was more expensive and on a smaller screen, but had a much better experience.nnI really want to support Cineplex, but there needs to be work done behind the scenes.
So, the good is it's cheap. Opening weekend of Toy Story 5 was $50 AUD for five tickets. That's a crazy good price. And concessions were cheap, too. Two big drinks, two large popcorns, a frozend drink, and cotton candy was $34 AUD. Also good, the screen and sound quality. Nice big screen and not super, obnoxiously loud.nnThe bad: it's kind of a dump. One seat was ripped off and laying on the ground. Other seat upholstery was torn and coming off. Seats were sticky. Once we found a bunch of seat in okay condiy, however, we were fine.nnSo trade-off for me was worth it. Ugly theater, but cheap theater.
Cheap tickets! Reasonable picture quality and lots of seats. Unfortunately the cheap tickets also attract teens and kids - and woe to you if you attend a film that also so happens to have a large amount of teens attending. Seats are also at least 10-15 years old. They're still mostly comfortable, but are in need of replacement. Staff are friendly. Complimentary parking which is nice! Concessions are over priced, like any cinema.
