We no longer stay at this location. The owner has responded to my coment and what she has said isnt true they never came any where near our room until we left. Im not sure what it is like now but from all reports it hasnt improved.

 It's in a perfect local. We have stayed here a few times over couple of years and the staff have been really good the last couple times. But this time there is new management and aren't as good as the last people that where here. For example the fans haven't been cleaned in a long time and the floors were very slippery as well. We told the ladies in the office and it hadn't been done before we left (we stayed for a week) and we also asked for a dust pan and brush so we could swipe the floors and we still waiting. But apart from that it's still a very nice place just hope they get there act together with the cleaning and it will be just as nice as the last people that had it. We no longer stay here.

The Crest is a good location for the GC, close to the beach etc. There was plenty of room in the apartment for 3 of us and the full kitchen was a bonus. Car parking was simple, air con and mattresses comfortable. The apartment is not serviced during your stay so you have to stock up on supplies (like toilet paper!).

We checked in to an apartment decorated in browns and yellows topped off with marked walls, mouldy curtains, and rusty doors. It looked nothing like anything advertised online, or anything from 2017.
When we asked the receptionist to move us initially we were informed that, as each apartment is individually owned, it is what it is, and nothing can be done. We showed the reception team the photos and they thanked us for our feedback, but, again, it's up to the owners of each unit to keep their property in check.
I was very tired from my flight, so I complained more, feeling that I had to become upset or I was just going to be fobbed off, and luckily the friendly manager found us two other apartments to choose from- which was a miracle as they were insistent the building was full . We chose the less horrid unit but it was still home to a rusty toaster, limescale-ridden bathroom fittings, chipped grouting, and marked walls. We took this unit, not because it was nice, but because it was less awful.
The staff gave us a $20 discount voucher for a local restaurant, which was nice, but I would rather have a room that has been described as “award winning” and “luxury”.
I do not believe all the apartments at the Crest are as bad as what we saw and the reason we could only pick from older apartments and not the ones advertised on the website was because we booked through a third party. If you want a decent room and a high floor, you have to book directly. I know the business model of booking websites is they offer the same accommodation at a lower price, but not at the Crest as owners apparently refuse to have their units rented though booking websites (even though booking website "awards" are proudly displayed behind their reception). The Crest offer a price guarantee, but in reality this does not exist as when we inquired about the rate we found on a booking website, they could not match said price.
On the positive side, the rooms has a good layout, the location in Main Beach is excellent, and the towels are quite nice. The pool area is quite municipal, but the gardens are lovely.
If you look at the Crest website, they claim to have 4.5 stars from RACQ. Upon seeing the state of the units, I asked the staff and the about this, but they denied the rating and became defensive and almost accusing me of making it up. However, as you can see on their website under “frequently asked questions” it clearly states they have 4.5 stars from RACQ. I am sure the Crest will have an excellent reason for this, as the Crest have an answer for everything.
One last thing: another Trip Advisor review mentions the $50 charge for not emptying the bins and washing up. In their response to this other review, the Crest said this policy was only in a specific apartment because of a specific unit owner. This is untrue as all 3 flats I viewed had the same warning, so beware, your holiday will end with you doing the dishes! This has not been the case at the three other Main Beach apartments I've stayed in.
So, a disputed RACQ rating, and apartments that say they are luxurious but in reality consist  of rusty toasters, limescale, and damaged walls. This property advertises as “Self Contained Luxury Main Beach Accommadation (sic)” but I think is more geared towards family getaways rather than something more chic - the price reflects this too, but not by much.

Was made to feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable, was treated like a criminal probably because of my tattoos however i probably earn 5x thier salary. Was informed in a very demeaning manner that everything gets locked up at night insinuating the fact that she thought i might try to steal something. Very disappointed i thought it was 2017
