Absolutely AWESOME place to stay, rooms were perfect for what we needed. So much to do for the kids - Paid and Free activities, something for everyone's budget! Absolutely no need to leave, your days and evenings are filled with adventures within the resort. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back. Adding the family feast package was so convenient and well worth the $$, the BBQ was a great use too.
First impressions were a little overwhelming, with lots of kids running around the reception area and the resort feeling extremely busy on the first day. However, it quickly became clear why this place is so popular with families.nnWe stayed in the Astro King Bunkhouse room, which was clean, spacious, and perfect for families with kids.nnThere was no shortage of activities to keep everyone entertained. We enjoyed making light-up planets, bath bombs, beading, laser tag, hair braiding at the beauty salon, rock climbing, Red Light Green Light, and even a jelly-eating contest.nnThe staff were simply amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The pool area is fantastic, and the waterslides are very kid-friendly. The spa was great too, although it was often quite busy.nnA couple of downsides — the outdoor areas could benefit from more regular cleaning, and some of the rooms are starting to show their age. That said, it looks like upgrades are already underway.nnOverall, I’m giving this resort 5 stars because my kids absolutely loved it, made new friends, and created memories that will last a lifetime.”
Amazing place to be with some pros and consnPros:nNo one can justify the price for all the facilities they provide for the family specially kids. You cant fault it with kids so no doubt its the top rated family resort for 15yrs in a row.nCons:nRooms and toilets are very very outdated. You have that damp smell all around the place. The glass insulation is so poor that you can even hear someone chatting outside.nNot to mention that commercial exhaust system on top of the restaurants that keeps running all night long and it is so loud that you feel at times that someone has put a 20yr old aircon right at your head! They can do better with it and at least put the exhausts facing outwards towards the main road and not towards the accommodation rooms. Also you would usually expect from the resorts of this level the pool waters to be temprsture controlled but it was quite cold and not warm at all so kids could hardly enjoy it only when the sun is out. So while staying there for 3 nights, they might have used the pool facilities only for 3 hrs because it was too cold.nnThe only reason I rated higher is that it is justified for the kids, they stay happy. Else you can find much better places within the same price range.nHotel highlightsnKid-friendly, Great value
Truly is a kids paradise. Never disappoints! That is the main reason to holiday here.nThe rooms facing the pool are very noisy though. My little one had a lot of trouble going to sleep with all the outside noise going on as the rooms have very little sound proofing.nHandy tip…. Avoid the penguins restaurant. Overpriced and sub par food. The pizza and cafe adjacent is far superior!
Stayed for the first time over the weekend and while the overall experience was good it wasn’t that great I would say pretty average. Our 6 yr old and toddler had a ball and we would return just for them to enjoy it again but I think there is a lot the resort needs to improve on.nFood was average, while it was served quickly and ordering was easy, the food it self lacked flavour. The hot ordered breakfast was the best we loved the big brekky it was perfect for us and the kids, glad we added this on to our booking. The service was fantastic from the servers we had but the lack of attention from some staff is annoying for example over the the weekend we stayed I was standing at the counter / bar waiting to be served for a while with no staff in sight & not to mention waiting in line for the restaurant for longer than we should of considering there was enough staff walking around inside, it appears there lacks management direction for staff to efficiently serve people.nWe stayed at the captains quarters and it was pretty average for the price we payed, there was no ventilation for the shower so it was like a steam room and of course covered with mould stains, poor design. I think cleaning & accommodation needs a lot of work.nOver all it was great for the kids they loved the pool and play area, we didn’t use the kids club as our kids age too far apart so one didn’t want to go alone & our toddler was too little to be on her own anyway.nAgain I would visit just for a weekend and give it another chance but hope to see they improve as it has SO much potential to be way better. The other thing was there isn’t adequate pram access, stairs everywhere and have to walk from one side through the pool area to the other and again stairs all around no ramps.nAnyway I would say they are 3 stars not 4.nI enjoyed it but hard to not notice the downfalls of the place.nThanks !
