I haven't been in spotlight for yrs. I had my 6yr old daughter's birthday coming up & I was doing party bags for her classroom. They came through wit some really cool/cheap party bag stuff. I didn't just buy party bag stuff though. I also brought new doona cover for my girls at $15 each, a beautiful bamboo bed head for my bed, new throw blanket for my son & beautiful blockout curtains for my son's room. I also inquired about a block out blind for my kitchen cause they cut to size. I was in the shop for 3HRS!!! I've never wondered around any shop for that long. The staff are also AMAZING & super helpful, in my experience.
+1 welcoming and friendly staff.n+1 variety and availability of things. You can almost get any colour of wool here. Or gender reveal ballons.n+1 location and parking availability.n-2 for prices. Prices are super expensive. I do understand prices include the cost of keeping things on shelf for really really long time as almost all things are non perishable but plan ahead and order online. One could save heaps $$$.n25 aud for a 10 pages wool project book
Horrible. I went after school to look at yarn and was pulled aside and accused of stealing by staff, probably racially motivated. Did not let me leave the store and after wasting 30 minutes of my time reviewing security cameras, I in fact did not steal anything ‍ woman still made a backhanded comment about how my bag was apparently less full when I entered
I happened to be travelling through here and watched them treat an elderly woman so bad and teaming up to push her out of the store with ridicule . Staff members acting like rude bogans who don't realise how privileged they are to work amongst beautiful craft and materials and not understanding that their job is customer service and how lucky they are. This woman was only trying to buy a sewing machine. Sewing machines are expensive. The way she was spoken and talked down to was really bad - even if she was buying a button and asking for a discount you shouldn't let your staff behave like that. This elderly woman was polite and nice. The larger women staff behaved like ferals. Eventually a lovely Asian girl who also works here apologised and helped. But wow Those women taking their frustration out of vulnerable elderlies... Is really not something I want to see again. The large staff woman was gas lighting the older lady and telling her to go outside to take a breather because she was apparently raising her voice. This was made up. She was at the end of her shift and felt it wasn't her job to do anymore. So the way out is to say that the customer is 'acting aggressively' so they get out of their responsibility clearly outlined in their job description - basic customer service. This poor old lady eventually bought a sewing machine anyway. I am mortified to have witnessed such behaviour and I am happy to be contacted to discuss this in detail.
Really good store. I did click & collect and it was so easy. The cashier was friendly and very helpful. I will shop here either online or in person.
