Phase one of renovations complete.nStaff are welcoming and attentive, love that you get service with a smile.nThe set up, the building is unique and such a beautiful historic theatre, very aesthetically pleasing if you are into art deco and classic style. Just Beautiful nThe theater and sound system are fine, there is ample space between rows of seats, but i welcome the next phase of renovation to install better and/or more comfortable reclining seats.nThe candy bar and drinks, dining area are small but offers enough refreshments and light meals to cocktails and non alcoholic beverages.nGreat Hot coffee, the bar and food options are good and price reasonable. Food and drinks can be ordered and delivered to your seats if your movie starts. Also good to know the diner & bar is open to customers that are not viewing a movie, also runs events and available for bookings.nToilets nice and clean.nAccessibility lifts are available.nThe Wallis membership price is not yet active at the Piccadilly so was not able to use discounted member price here.
The Piccadilly is a wonderful experience .nI loved how the complete building has been updated to reflect how it looked on its opening day. It was an emotional day for me because too few examples like this still exist .nGood job , well done !
The Piccadilly Cinema in Adelaide, Australia, offers a charming and unique movie-going experience that stands out from larger multiplex chains. Located in the heart of the city, this historic theatre has been a beloved local institution since its opening in 1912. The cinema’s vintage aesthetic, complete with ornate decor and a welcoming atmosphere, transports patrons to a bygone era of cinema.nnOne of the standout features of the Piccadilly is its commitment to screening a diverse range of films. While it does showcase mainstream blockbusters, it also offers a selection of independent films, documentaries, and international cinema, making it a favorite for cinephiles seeking something beyond the typical Hollywood fare. The theatre also regularly hosts special events, including classic film screenings and film festivals, which adds to its appeal.nnThe staff is friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. The cinemas themselves are cozy and well-maintained, with comfortable seating and high-quality sound and projection. A selection of gourmet snacks and beverages is available, elevating the traditional cinema snack bar.nnIn an era of impersonal, large-scale cinemas, the Piccadilly offers a refreshing, intimate environment for movie lovers. Whether you're in the mood for a blockbuster or an indie gem, it's a venue that celebrates the magic of film in a way few others can.
A lovely little theatre that's been recently renovated. There's a lovely little bar there, and they can even deliver food to your seat in the cinemagreat when you're only just in time to see the movie.nThe seats unfortunately weren't so comfy, and rather small.nThe staff there were all very nice and friendly, and so helpful too.nThe food wedges were very nice, it was great to eat hot food and sip on a gin and tonic while watching the movie.
Wonderful art deco independent cinema. I've read some of the other mean spirited reviews, and can confirm that the sound quality is fine unless you are an audiophile, and the seats are fine unless you expect a reclining sofa!nEnjoy the beautiful ambience and magical surroundings of an art deco theatre, and stop being so grumpy!
