A nice cinema with comfortable seats mitigated by the fact that we had to experience the new Avatar movie with no air conditioning on a 36 degree day. It being turned on as the credits started to roll was ridiculous, especially as the foyer was checked twice to ask to turn it on there were no staff around to do so. The attitude from one of the staff members on arrival was also unappreciated and seemed out of nowhere, particularly as we were the only people at the counter, so it wasn’t like they were rushed off their feet. I’ve had great experiences here, so this was all super disappointing.
This cinema, is one of the great modern cinemas, and easily the best in Adelaide. The Art Deco building with a modern take, the immediate service from the staff, the ease of parking and the comfortable seats make this entire experience effortless and filled with positive vibes.nnAll of this means you can easily immerse yourself in the experience of the film you're seeing.nnThis is yet another 5 star review. I only post 5 star reviews except for 1 public toilet 1 time. Everything else is not worth my time.
Went to this fantastic cinema once again to see an amazing Italian film.nThe cinema chairs are so roomy, the sound system hits you in the chest, and the choice of movies is very interesting.nThe only annoyance had nothing to do with the cinema but rather the person who took a phone call during the movie! Really.nGreat experience plus just outside of the cinema are places to eat, drink and grab coffee.
I asked a girl at the counter if it was okay if I went into the cinemas - unaware of the common protocol of not checking tickets at this cinema. She rudely asked if I had a ticket, which I said yes to and showed her and she just scoffed and rolled her eyes at me out of annoyance. I understand that the question might of been odd but I do not visit the cinemas often and did not understand the basic protocol my bad on this part.nI just thought it was really unnecessary to be so rude to a confused customer. I sat down thinking about it throughout the movie.nThe cinemas at some point had its air conditioning stop working, and it was so bad that I could smell the stench of other people's sweat and breath the cinema is tiny so there isn't much ventilation, but the movie was so good that no one wanted to go notify staff about it. We were watching knives out 3 by the way, good movie and so much so 20 of us sat in the cinema through the boiling heat.
Edit: I was able to get in touch with management, and they did apologise for the experience, and offered compensation. This is the kind of customer service that I like to see from this venue.nnThis used to be my favourite cinema, but now I'm not sure.nVery sad to see the direction this cinema is going in recently. It has fewer sessions than its East End counterpart, and customer service has really dropped. One of the escalators has been broken for weeks, so maintenance and upkeep seems to take a long time.nTonight was an all time low, as the air conditioner didn't function for the entire runtime of a three hour movie on a 34 degree day. I went to the lobby twice to inform staff, but both times nobody was there, and the place looked abandoned.nIt's unfortunate because this used to be one of the best places to catch a movie in a well-kept cinema with good care for the customer, but I think I will start looking elsewhere.
