The Capri is a heritage listed, Art Deco cinema, run mostly by a network of generous volunteers.

Story

The Capri is an independent not-for-profit cinema run by a network of generous volunteers. Built in 1941, it is heritage listed and houses the Theatre Organ Society’s unique world class theatre pipe organ.

The profit from every ticket you buy goes back in to the restoration of this iconic South Australian building and the WurliTzer organ.

Why not come along for a bit of old world atmosphere and see the organ rise out of the stage and play in the evening session on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings, 15 minutes before the scheduled screening time.

This isn't your average multiplex – the Capri Theatre is a genuine piece of Adelaide's history. You can feel the character as soon as you walk in. The art deco architecture is super cool, and it's got a real nostalgic charm that the big chain cinemas just can't match. Saw a classic film here and the whole experience was awesome.
Nice old cinema with a great vibe.nWent here a couple of times to watch the candlelight live orchestra and rent the place to play switch with friends.nGreat place, great fun
Absolutely beautiful old cinema with preserved charm! The building feels like stepping back in time and rightfully so being heritage listed. They offer a couple of current films and a select few older classics with some sessions offering viewers the experience of hearing the wonderful organ played for 15mims prior to the movie starting. All the staff are volunteers who pride themselves on keeping such an incredible establishment open and alive. Prices are pretty good considering all money goes to keeping this place open. They offer a wide range of snacks for the usual prices. A lovely place to go for those who love older cinemas, or supporting small local pieces of history. Would return!

The tribute to Bridgerton candlelight performance was stunning. We had second row tickets and found the experience a delight for the senses.
