I visited in January 2020. From other reviews I think the centre may recently have come under me management. If so, give it a go. I really loved this cinema. It is small, there is friendly service. It is not crowded and the experience is a truly old fashioned visit to the movies. If you enjoy a more intimate, personal outing to the cinema and are willing to trade the massive screen and big candy bar experience, then I highly recommend this theatre. The choc tops are home made, massive and affordable. A lady ordered pop corn and they made it from scratch for her! The screen was large enough and I was easily able to see and hear and I was at the very back. If I lived in Adelaide this would be my theatre of choice.
I adore that it's a lovely quiet old-fashioned theater, with soft velvet seats. The theatre is always kept clean, and although the movie choices are fewer than the big cinemas, they run the movie for a lot longer, so you won't miss out! For those with mobility issues, as the cinema IS on the first floor, they have a seat escalator, that takes you up the side of the stairs in a comfortable seat, that swivels so you're facing the right way to get out of it whether at the top or bottom. It has a seatbelt, and the controller allows you to go up or down at your own, comfortable, speed. My disabled son has no problems with it at all! Older family members seem really happy and feel like this is how a movie experience should be. Overall, I would hugely reccommend this cinema to anyone who wants a quiet authentic movie experience at a lovely theater. Parking is available out the back and on the surrounding streets. Enjoy!
Totally unbelievable-Attended the cinema this morning for the 10.30 session of "ladies in Black" I had a free ticket because last time I went there the movie wouldn't start. And again--sat there for 20 minutes only to be told AGAIN that the movie would not start. How can anyone run a business like this. I certainly will never try to go there again, Absolutely ridiculous !!!
I didn't . Was demolishing my Sisters' practice . Burnside General Practice . Haven't been to the Trak for about 10 year. But recommend it . They have a "stair chair" for the old or infirm . Used to take my late Mum , as did many of my siblings , to many fillums ! It is a really good place , a place to make memories . One Love y'all .
We saw 'Loving' on Thursday at 4.00pm.We nearly walked out before it started because of the welter of commercial ads - some repeated. It was nearly 20 minutes before the film started with its sound muffled and the images impossibly dark - sometimes we had no idea what was happening. Scenes shot in daylight appeared gloomy where they should have been sunny, particularly at the end. If this is the new approach to seeing films locally, we preferred the Trak before it changed hands. It was always a happy experience going to the Trak but we may have to shift our regular film visits to another cinema.
Small theatres with maybe 20 seats. There are a number of lesser known/ subtitled movie options to choose from. Staff are friendly. Theatre is a little bit run down but still an enjoyable experience.
Very small and cosy cinema.
Nice birthday present - after turning up at scheduled time having travelled for 40 minutes only to be informed by a third party that the cinema was not going to opened and that the advertised screening was cancelled!! Many others were likewise annoyed and frustrated.
Love watching the latest movies on the big screen Trak and Regent cinemas are great locally owned and run with Very friendly and helpful staff good candy bar and licensed bar Watch movies the multiplexes don't show until the movie breaks box office records My latest visit was to see new release " Not My Dog " so funny , so many one liners and hilarious jokes had trouble trying to remember some to tell the next day at work :D
Had a rather bad experience during a visit here today. Cinema 1 was FREEZING on a very cold Adelaide day! The pre-movie advertisements only consisted of sound - no picture - which is possibly a blessing. Then halfway through the film Chappequiddick the sound started to break up so it was impossible to understand the dialogue. A customer left to complain and the sound improved temporarily until the last 10 minutes when the sound broke up again. People started to leave early. I have never seen such a shabby old cinema with such a small screen. We were given 2 free tickets each as compensation which were fairly useless to us as we are visiting from Melbourne.
