I have been shopping here for the last seven years. I have not found any location in Sydney that you can extensively try out all brands of headphones before you purchase them. Trying before you buy is important for audio quality and for comfort. The team at Minidisc are experts in the field of personal audio. They gave me valuable advice, I was able to try out ANC BT headphones in a peaceful , calm environment and they were very patient with me. They have a huge range of products, priced very competitively. Support your local business and visit them for your next purchase.
Bit different from my other reviews cause of the store differences Absolutely amazing store, crazy to see so many headphones ranging from audiophile-grade to consumer bluetooth in a brick and mortar store in Australia of all places. We came in today so my father could try a pair of HD800S and a few other headphones, a great aspect of Minidisc and we left very satisfied with the HD800 and a Diablo amplifier, as well as a set of Final Audio Design E2000s. Headphones aside what really makes Minidisc a great place is the honest and educated advice the employees there give you, most notably Lachlan,who, I just found out was an experienced audio equipment reviewer on YouTube who was nothing but helpful during our time there and offered many different headphones for my dad to try. He was extremely patient and friendly and clearly has a devotion to and extensive knowledge of the audiophile space. If you're looking to get good advice about any kind of audio product in Australia then Minidisc is the best place to go.
The guys in store were very helpful, not pushy just let me chill and listen to all the different headphones I wanted to try. Helped me out with a recommendation on a pair that I wasn't aware of and after listening they were the ones I ended up buying. Great place.
I recently purchased two products from Minidisc online, and I've been very happy with their fast dispatch times and great customer service. The initial product I ordered Fiio E10k TC had some issues with my IEMs, so as a beginner to audio I emailed Minidisc, and received a response very quickly within the next few hours. Their suggested solution worked as I ordered the second product from them, and just wanted to share my positive experience with their easy to navigate online store and fast service.
Amazing range of headphones, IEMs, Amps, DACs, digital audio players and even cables- which are almost always available to try via their demo units. Staff are always friendly, highly knowledgeable and are obviously passionate about audio. Highly recommended.

Good service when you buy, but claiming warranty/refunds is a pain. If you ever need help, they'll take their time, give no updates, and do everything they can to screw around with you. Honestly just buy from Amazon or something similar. Way cheaper Minidisc doesnt want to price match Hifiman Store on Amazon because it's apparently the chinese store yet blame China for the delay in an RMA, easier to get a refund/replacement with less hassle and are bound by the same laws Minidisc claim they are so proud to follow.
Professional retail service. Able to try before purchase, will offer to inform you for an items arrival eg. accessories for a brand new product. Totally concerned for customers needs. Be nice to them, quite a special store.
I rarely write reviews but I felt like Minidisc has deserved a thorough recommendation after many years of fantastic customer service. I emailed last week to enquire if a demo was possible for a set of STAX SRS-3100 electrostatic headphone + amp combo. Within a few hours, they replied and managed to source a unit from their supplier. We organized a time, I went into their shop and ordered one on the spot after the demo. They had no stock at the time for new units, and managed to get one to my doorstep within 2 business days. Communication and shipping were quick, and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks so much guys, I will be 100% coming back for all future audio purchases. RIP wallet
Minidisc is the worst place for your wallet, and the best place for all things audio! Their staff are excellent, with expert knowledge across all platforms of high-fidelity audio gear. My first visit I came in with no experience with high-end gear, and left with a hole in my wallet and a big smile with absolutely no regrets. : Wing, the owner, is very accommodating. I tried out several headphones to find that sound signature I'm looking for. He suggested several headphones to audition on their plug-in-and-lose-yourself-completely-in-the-music setup. Man, I couldn't ask for better service. If there's a particular gear you're after, they can get it in for you to try. Need that uncommon Questyle amp stand that's not even on eBay nor on Amazon? They can hook you up. Oh, Hifiman released yet another flagship in span of 3 weeks? I'm exaggerating of course but yep, these guys are your friendly-neighborhood drug dealer, if your drug was great audio. Lachlan was very helpful as well, his YouTube reviews sealed the deal for me in purchasing an amplifier. What makes this store different, in comparison to more commercialised stores such that in Newtown, is that they're a small team. Small in a sense that their focus on offering expert advice on your next purchase is second to none. Each one of them have excellent knowledge and experience with products they carry. I phoned another audio store asking whether they can tell me how one headphone sounds compared to another, and they couldn't tell me. Phoned Wing, and I have my answers, though of course I'd have to audition them myself. This is an audio store, ran by actual audiophiles. Audio gear I've acquired from their store are a pair of flagship Sennheisers cans, entry Questyle amp, and some comply foam tips for my IEM's. There's a reason why they have a large number of loyal customers and I have no doubt it's the staff that makes this place such an amazing place to experience nope, not just visit in your audio journey.
