Staff said product was not in stock on their system however found a carton I was looking for in coldroom.
The staff are always helpful and I find the prices are generally better than Dan's. If they aren't, they price match without a hassle ... and you are encouraged to do so.nnThey also stock reasonably priced beers that aren't available elsewhere. Thank you!nnUpdate:Today I had to go back to Dan's. The choice of cartons of craft beer is VERY narrow. Seems like they just want to sell 6-packs and the dreaded overpriced 4-packs. The warehouse ex First Choice didn't even have the beers advertised by their lower level plain Liquorland stores. Very sad... nnUpdate Dec25: Visited again for red wines. Reasonable range around $10.
Went with my little brother and they refused to sell to me because they thought I was buying for a minor. My brother is adopted from Vietnam and does not look like me. The rude cashier assumed that I was lying and said “good try” in a demeaning way. I am utterly appalled at the rudeness and the clear racism from staff. The cashier was a tall white blonde male but I didn’t see his name tag. I have shopped at other stores where it is not a problem. I supplied ID yet he still refused. I will never shop at First choice liquor and would not advise anyone if this is the way they treat their customers
It is a good shop with a variety of wines. However when I went there last week for a specific shiraz wine I found out they had none left so I had to go to another first choice shop. Quite inconvenient.
It's set in a convenient location and it manages to have some wines that Dan Murphy's don't stock a Portuguese Vino Verde for instance, which is our friend's favourite wine, attractively priced half-cases of wine their McGuigan's 6 for $36 is good value, but their slab of 24 Guinness cans is almost $10 dearer than Dan Murphy's.
