The pool was beautiful, and the kids loved it. Very clean and lots of seating. Even when it's busy.nThe room was nice and had fantastic views. Was clean and no issues. The robe was so nice to wear. Perfect to hop into after a swim.nThe bed was perfect.nValet stuff have great personalities.nBreakfast was nice but very expensive for what you get.nFor the price you should get a complimentary coffee.nFirst 5 star hotel I've been to where you are expected to pay additional money for a coffee. Get machines and if someone wants a real coffee they can pay.nCouldn't adjust temperature in the room.nVery loud at night from plumbing, i assume.nThe bathroom needs to be updated. The shower was horrible. Couldn't get a good temperature. Either to hot or freezing. Toilets should be separate. Most hotels we stay at have separated the toilet.nTv was outdated. This room felt like i had travelled back to 2007.
Spent 4 nights at this magnificent place. Room was just perfect with beautiful view of city. Location perfect. Pool, sauna and steam room fantastic. Will be staying there again and recommend this beautiful place to anybody visiting Melbourne. Staff also so helpful.
I wish to express my complete dissatisfaction with my family's experience at check in for our booked stay at Crown Promenade on Thursday 24/04/25.nnWe arrived at reception at 11:31 pm, later than anticipated due to a delayed flight arrival from interstate. On arrival we were advised that there was an 'inventory issue' and that we would need to wait for the manager who would be with us soon to assist. She was with other guest's who were also without a room in Promenade despite booking because they were over subscribed.nnAfter approximately 15 minutes of waiting, we were given the 'option' of a room at Metropol, and advised it would be an upgrade from our city view twin room, booked for myself, husband and 21-year old daughter. Realistically, we had no 'option' because there was no room for us at Promenade, and it was now midnight on the first night of a busy long weekend in Melbourne.nnI had received an SMS earlier the same evening, requesting confirmation of our check-in time. I called at 6:18 pm whilst still in interstate to advise we'd been delayed departing and anticipated arrival after 11pm.nnAfter 40 minutes at Promenade reception - so now 12:09am, we were redirected to Metropol, something we weren't impressed about because we had selected Promenade over Metropol for several specific reasons when booking:nn- we prefer the room layout for our family's needsn- a group of family and friends also book Promenade and it has us all in the same placen- we prefer it's proximity to the facilities and restaurants we usennInstead, we have ended up accommodated in a room in Metropol on level 8 - the lowest level available. It is without the city view we specifically booked. The coat hangers and mini bar items have a layer of dust on them that suggests the room hasn't been checked or serviced for some time. Access to power outlets and USB ports at the bedside is mostly impossible. The bathroom doesn't offer the privacy we specifically book Promenade over Metropol for. There is absolutely nothing about this room that makes it better than our last stay at Promenade, infact, we feel that despite the 4 vs 5 star rating claim, Promenade is far better.nnI phoned Promenade reception once in our room and asked again if we can be moved after the first night at Metropol for the remainder of our stay, as our family and friends arrive at Promenade tomorrow. They will still be oversubscribed apparently so unless we wish to sleep our 21-year old daughter on a day bed in a king room, there is nothing available. We made this reservation 4 months ago and it was confirmed so we are extremely unhappy with our experience tonight.nnIt's ANZAC long weekend and despite the fact we are completely dissatisfied we have no other accommodation options.nnWe were offered a credit for our troubles, however as we made our reservation through Booking.com it couldn't be applied. We were then asked to make a snap decision on receiving credit for buffet breakfast reservations, using the mini bar or valet parking we have no car with us. It was after midnight, following a two hour flight delay and 40 minutes at Promenade reception and all we wanted was an efficient check-in and bed. We were then sent trekking through the Crown complex to start check-in all over again. I believe we may receive a credit to our room to offset anything charged back to our room however I haven't seen it yet.nnThis will be our last stay with Crown. This experience has completely ruined the beginning of our weekend. Every time we return to our 'upgraded' room through Crown complex which I believe feels a bit like a tacky shopping arcade, I'll be reminded why we're not coming back. And the fact I felt compelled to write this negative review at 2am because it has me so annoyed should be testament to how undervalued Crown have made my family feel as guests this weekend.
It's in a great location, lots of entertainment close by a definite plusnBut as for the entertainment in the rooms nSeriously crown a major disappointment, old outdated T.V that cuts out every 4 minutes.nNot able to stream your own music or movies, get with the times Crown.nAs for the rooms there adequate
Rooms are a bit tired but the views are fantastic and the porters at the front of the hotel are so friendly and helpful. We stayed here when it had not long been open and the rooms haven't changed much in 20 years. Time for a freshen-up I'd say.
