Absolutely beautiful Hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Bed a little harder than I prefer however still really comfortable. Loved the shower. They also have the best heating and cooling system I have come across. Loved every aspect of this hotel
We very recently stayed at Crown Metropol for our 15 year wedding anniversary and I wanted to share our experience.nnWe arrived at around 4pm and it was exceptionally busy. After waiting some time in our car outside the entrance, and despite having paid for valet parking, I found a car park outside and carried our luggage to the valet desk to hand my keys in. I was asked whether we'd taken everything out of the car, but there was no offer to assist or welcome to Crown or anything like rhat.nnWe then waited around 20-25 minutes with our bags in the queue to check in. We recently stayed at the Westin and Park Hyatt, and you never get that sort of queue in those genuine 5 star hotels.nnThe receptionist that served us at check in was immediately rude - no welcome to Crown, or how was your day, or sorry for the wait - she just asked for our name and processed our arrival impersonally. I asked politely whether there was any flexibility for late check out given the time we'd spent waiting after arriving probably 45 mins all up, and the receptionist snapped back that: everyone else has had to wait too; that she couldn't give a late check out to everyone in the line; and that others had arrived on time 3pm for that reason. In other words, we were late so it's our fault. My wife and I were in shock, and just paid the extra money for late check out - we didn't want to ruin our anniversary by arguing.nnWhen we arrived in our room it was incredibly cold - I noticed that the thermostat was turned to the lowest setting. We were also really disappointed by the lack of cleanliness the bathroom had built up grime, and the bed was dirty too.nnWe've stayed at Crown Towers and Metropol on several occasions and always enjoyed our stay. This was so far below expectations on so many fronts that we'll stay elsewhere moving forward. Aside from the poor service, Crown Metropol is looking tired and dirty - if you're planning something nice for a special occasion, you can do much better elsewhere.
Stayed at this hotel for the Oasis concert , my daughter's stayed at crown towers before so when I booked this I didn't realise crown has multiple hotels here none the less check in was smooth and my room was available before the check in time of three , nice room , what sets this hotel apart is it's location within the crown complex where you can found everything from Macca's to top restaurant. We ate at the Indian restaurant in the complex on night one and the service was impeccable. The pool facility is also nice although it took some wait for a staff member to be present to order drinks . On check in was advised that if you eat at the hotel restaurant and book it to the room that can be offset against waiting for your security bond back but alas this wasn't the case and having booked breakfast had to be pay up front as it couldn't be offset none the less breakfast was very nice would visit again
4.5 stars strictly speaking. Very good, definitely recommend for hotel customer service and for patient receptionists when there was a problem with payment. Pretty good hotel rooms and lots of things close and handy. Pools were good but it would be nice if there was a time when it closes off for kids so that adults could peacefully swim without having kids being silly. One of the best hotel I've been to so far.nRecommended
Loved crown metropol. Excellent location. Right near the numbers 96 and 109 trams. Great views from the 26th floor. Infinity Pool was amazing on the 27th floor.. Views across bay to stkilda, the west gate and melb city were great. Pool not real warm but warm enough. Plunge pool nice and warm. Rooms were big and well set up with 1 lay down couch and king bed. Room was only being serviced daily if you requested it? A little unusual but we just requested daily. All around had a great time.
