Stayed at Crowne Plaza Melbourne recently and came away really impressed.nnThe hotel may be a little older compared to some of the newer properties around Melbourne, but it's been maintained extremely well and still feels modern, comfortable and welcoming. Walking into the room, the heater had already been turned on for our arrival which was a thoughtful touch on a cold Melbourne day.nnThe bed was very comfortable and the views were outstanding. We had a room overlooking Crown and the city skyline, and it was fantastic both during the day and at night. Even the view from the lift lobby across South Wharf was impressive and reminded you that you're right in the heart of Melbourne.nnWhat really stood out was the staff. The concierge team were wonderful, not only at check-in but also later in the evening when we were returning from Crown. They stopped for a friendly chat and genuinely seemed interested in guests. The front desk staff were equally pleasant and welcoming. I also noticed many of the staff appeared to have been there for quite some time, which is usually a good sign. There was a professionalism and genuine care that can be hard to find these days.nnThe location is almost perfect. Crown is only a couple of minutes' walk away and South Wharf is around five minutes. Even better, much of the walk to Crown is undercover, which anyone familiar with Melbourne weather will appreciate.nnBreakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, and Dive In Bar was a great little spot for a drink with a relaxed atmosphere.nnMy only real criticism relates to the bathroom design. The bathroom is positioned very close to the bed and the sliding door leaves a noticeable gap, meaning there is very little privacy. I'll include a photo because it's difficult to explain, but it's definitely something that could be improved.nnThe rooftop pool is also quite small and, being outdoors, probably isn't usable for a large part of the year given Melbourne's weather.nnOverall though, this hotel has exactly the Melbourne city feel I was looking for. Great staff, comfortable rooms, amazing views and an unbeatable location. I'd happily stay here again.
Gorgeous place to stay that is close to so much. We had a river view room, the view was spectacular. Bed were extremely comfortable, the shower was perfect, the staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t use the pool but we had a look and it’s beautiful and clean. It felt nicely heated but we didn’t want to get in and out in the cold weather so next city stay we will be back and testing out the pool!nMy kids and I loved our stay and we’ve all agreed we are coming back again.
​I stay at the Crowne Plaza Melbourne regularly, and the service was great as always! I arrived late for a quick one night stay to celebrate a friend's birthday. The staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful right from the start. They immediately recognised my Diamond Elite status and absolutely spoiled us.n​I had booked two rooms, and they kindly arranged for them to be right next door to each other. Even better, both rooms were upgraded to a high floor with a fantastic casino view, which is a specific room category they offer. Breakfast was also included. When we got to my friend's room, there was a lovely birthday treat waiting for her, which was such a special and thoughtful touch!n​The rooms themselves were very clean and in great condition. The hotel is in a fantastic location nestled right by the Yarra River, making it super convenient for our plans. After a long day of travelling, the shower was exactly what I needed. The ensuite bathrooms feature a dual-pressure shower head, and the rainfall setting had amazing water pressure and plenty of hot water.n​I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Melbourne. They consistently go above and beyond!
This was probably one of the most beautiful hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in.nnI booked a suite with river views, and the outlook was absolutely stunning from both the lounge and the bedroom. Waking up to those views each morning was a real highlight of the stay.nnThe bathroom was equally impressive. The bath was perfect for relaxing, and I loved that they provided bath salts. After a soak, slipping into the robe and slippers felt incredibly luxurious.nnI stayed for two nights and was also given a late checkout, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Throughout my stay, the staff were friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful.nnEverything about this hotel felt polished and luxurious. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily book here again.
Overlooking the Yarra River, this hotel offers beautiful views and a comfortable, air-conditioned environment. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-suited for families. The staff were very helpful and kindly assisted in heating up our food upon request, which we greatly appreciated. The location is excellent, within walking distance of DFO South Wharf. Water pressure in the bathroom was strong, and the overall ambience was pleasant and relaxing. Highly recommended for families and travellers looking for a comfortable stay in Melbourne.
