This was our experience with budget car rental at the Gold Coast Airport. Car functioned as it should however cleanliness was appalling! Exterior was clearly only run over with a hose, there was bird droppings all over plus what appeared to be sticker residue on the doors that could have been easily removed. Interior still had rubbish in it from previous occupants. A spoon, SIM card frame and SIM card. All surfaces were covered in dust and grime including on the dash, footwell plastic and center consol. The cleanest part of the car was the boot floor.  All of the windscreens had minimal visibility due to handprints and a layer of film on them. We didn't bother sayinh anything as we left as we were in a rush. Check in staff member had a very ‘ I don’t want to be here attitude’. Kudos to the drop of staff when we returned it, they were very friendly. Might want to promote them to front desk. This is the first bad review I have ever posted but I was appalled at the overall experience so I thought people bothering to check reviews should know. May have just been a bad day for them but it was us who got the bad end of the stick

The car we booked was waiting for us. It was clean and well maintained.
On return the guys quickly checked over the car and we were free to leave.
Great experience.

Bad customer service. Ripped us off and cost a lot more than it should have. Don’t go there.

I booked my car then saw the negative reviews, decided to give them a go anyway. Firstly Budget were the cheapest, the others wanted ridiculous under 25 fees, whereas Budget was only $16.50 a day for a young driver. The check-in was quick, the car was fantastic, and the team were solid. No complaints, would definitely use them again.

Horrible Vehicle, Dirty and very uncomfortable, Child seat appeared very worn and had frayed material and smelt very dirty. Car very dirty inside and out. Instructions to find vechile in carpark very poor. Someone who called me to find out if the car seat needed to face forward or backwards has a very poor phone manner and tone. 
Car group chose was Mitsubishi Outlander or similar. We received a 7 seater holden captiva worse car I have ever driven. Used heaps of petrol due to the severely underpowered engine for the cars weight. Very uncomfortable car to sit in and drive. I needed to clean the car before use. Could not complain when I picked the car up as we needed to pick up keys to accommodation before 5pm. The car smelt so bad we sprayed the seats with Glen 20 to disinfect and deodorise it.
I will not be using Budget again its clear you get what you pay for and I never want to drive a dirty smelly holden captiva again. I will pay more elsewhere and make sure they dont use such a poor vehicle.
