Zero upon zero upon zero. The most toxic, negative and hostile environment I have ever seen. Rude nurses that haven’t the slightest clue or idea of what’s going on. My father in law barely spent the night there dehydrated and in poor health yet they didn’t even have the knowledge to connect an iv drip. Instead they supplied us with a spray bottle to “keep him hydrated”. What a joke!!!!! And when it became too much and we wanted out, we were refused and neglected. He barely spent the night and we transferred him to a REAL hospital where he is now in a stable condition and getting better. A building that deserves better and more experienced staff to cater for our people’s needs. Absolutely appalling.
It's happening everywhere - and they are all migrants - they bring their baggage from wherever they came from- as you mention they are arrogant and hostile towards elderly fragile residents - Their only incentive is their income - no mercy and cero respect. You would not have that treatment from an australian.
I have never in my life seen such neglect and completely idiotic response to an individual suffering. I visited this hospital with my ill uncle, whom we believed who’s battling for his life upon arrival at the hospital the nurses showed complete neglect to his situation and rather joked it off making comment like “we’ve seen worse” or “he will be able to work it off n a day or too”. Following such idiotic comment we tried to leave to go to another hospital where we were refused our right to exit the premises by very anger nurses whom original showed no care. After many discussions and arguments with the nurses and doctors we were able to get him transferred. Upon arrival of transfer the doctors stated “luckily youse got him here otherwise he would have suffered significant” which I was utterly appalled by as the nurses in this very hospital were joking about his condition. I would rather drive an extra 30 minutes to receive treatment at another hospital than to ever attend this hospital again. Absolutely disgraceful to our public health unit who in the past I have seen work hard to deliver care and it’s all been washed down the drain by a couple of “comedic nurses”. Sincerely yours - Mitch
First I want to remind everyone reading reviews of this hospital that many of the reviewers are grieving and it's not unsurprising that they are very upset and I suspect this is behind at least some of the negative reviews. My mum fortunately was not in palliative care but in older persons mental health. In the 2 months she was there I have nothing but positive feedback to give to all the nursing staff, doctors and social workers that we interacted with and looked after mum. The food is high quality, the facilities were well set up to cater for the patients needs. Visits with my young son were also easy and the staff were so accommodating to let us organise a Christmas party in the BBQ area. Thank you
If someone has recommended this facility to you please reconsider. My beloved grandmother was sent to Braeside after her community nurse advised us she needed to get her pain medication in check. She was terminally ill, but she had time. We had provided round the clock care for 6 months and would have continued if Braeside didn't take her away from us. After being admitted for a day and a half, my mother got a call at 3:20am advising that my grandmother had past away in the night. We received no phone call prior to advise that she was displaying end of life symptoms, and when my family arrived as early as we could the Nursing manager, pastor and a doctor consoled us and said she died peacefully. We were so confused- she was only in there to regulate her pain medication, she wasn't in there to die. We queried their version of events and discovered that my grandmother had been given 3 end of life medications in quick succession before she died- all administered without any observations made. My grandmother weighed 25-30kgs and was given a normal, adult dosage of one of these drugs. She was also allergic to every drug under the sun really, and again, was given these without any observations taken. Her chart described that she was in distress for FIVE HOURS before passing, and none of the nurses on shift believed her family should have been called. I'm shocked, appalled and disgusted by the negligence that obviously occurs within this facility. We were denied the opportunity to say goodbye, and we ultimately weren't informed that Braeside specializes in accidental euthanasia. No amount of apologies from their staff will ever be able to fix their countless mistakes. I'm writing this in hopes that everybody will know what they're getting into if they admit a loved one to Braeside.
Stayed in the Rehabilitation side of the hospital, most of the nurses there were great answered loads of my questions, saw empathy being given to patients who would have frustrated me badly, anytime you needed help they were there to help you with a smile on their face. Food was great as they have their own kitchen and will cook for any dietary need
Just rang this evening to find out the visiting hours and encountered a veru hostile and rude person. Explained that my Dad 88 wanted to come in tomorrow to say goodbye to his 92 yr old friend friends from children. She obviously didn't have the time of day for me and kept on about how I needed to speak to the family. I explained that we conversed with the family about 2 days ago." Well, he's not here. Rang the family only to find out he died yesterday morning. There are ways to talk to people in a nicer manner. I wasn't after amy information on the mans condition and I know she wasn't in the position to give out any but really ?
