Cumberland Hospital

This place is hell on Earth. It is no place to be for sick and vulnerable people and especially not for a 19 year old female. The intake psychiatrist yelled at me when I couldn't answer his questions or give him 'the right answer'. The nurses have no compassion. Daily bashings amongst patients. Electroshock therapy forced onto patients. The environment doesn't feel real. It feels like you are in a horror movie. Worst place on Earth for people suffering mental health issues.

If I could give them no stars I would! Literally the most horrible human captivity unit. The nurses do not care at all for the patients. Able to sit having panic attacks right out front the nurses unit (which has 3-6 nurses in it at all times) and not even get an "are you okay?" This is ridiculous. Does not supply counselling, does not supply any type of therapy. Doctors and nurses do not care about patients wellbeing, nor do they really care about the patients mental health, which is funny considering it's a mental health hospital. Absolutely horrible place to go. I highly reccomend never ever going to Cumberland. If you are experiencing issues with your mental health, do not go to Cumberland. Patients have come out worse, and even if they really do need to be somewhere in a hospital, the environment of Cumberland is just so bad that they're probably safer out of there. Cumberland's doctors do nothing to benefit the mental health of patients and instead, are happy to just hand out pills like Valium to patients instead of actually talking to them. As well as this, the hospital genuinely looks as though it's straight out of a horror movie. The hospital does not look as though it's been renovated since 1870. It is extremely scary and uninviting, the opposite of what a mental health hospital should be like. Nurses are rude, unsupportive, unhelpful, and don't care about their paitents. When things get too tough, patients are sedated. This place is literally just human captivity. It is worse than jail. I honestly do not reccomend even walking through it. The psychiatrist there are so useless that all they do is stare at you, how the he'll does that help anyone? Nada! If you ask them to give you something to help sleep they simply shrug you off and make you feel like you're worthless and not even give you the time of day!

Horrible place. It's actually a jail not a hospital. A place to make your depression worse and you have to fake that you are getting better so that they will let you out.

Worst hospital ever. They do not give med to patients if the patients do not ask for their meds.
