Nepean Teaching Hospital is a 520-bed teaching hospital. Nepean Hospital is located at the base of the Blue Mountains in Kingswood, New South Wales, Australia.Nepean Emergency Department treats over 54,000 patients annually. The Emergency Department is a purpose built facility with an adjacent short stay unit, and provides emergency care for a diverse case mix including paediatric patients. It is supported by multi-speciality services including 24 beds in the Intensive Care Unit, 24-hour interventional cardiology, hematology, trauma services, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, urology, plastic surgery, paediatrics and obstetrics and gynaecology.Also on the Nepean Hospital campus are a Neonatal ICU, Tresillian Family Care Centre, Menopause Service, Nepean Cancer Care Centre, Diabetes Service, Rehabilitation medicine and the Wentworth Centre for Drug and Alcohol Medicine. Nepean hospital hosts 14 operating theatres, with 6 operating theatres which opened in March 2012.Nepean Hospital's operating suite is a 24-hour service covering urology; gynae & obstetrics; colo-rectal; upper GIT; facio-maxillary; plastics; thoracic; pain team; dental; orthopaedics; vascular; neuro; ENT; general; some Paediatric; some endoscopic and emergency/trauma surgical specialties. Additionally, 24 hour access includes CT scanner and MRI services.

It doesn't cease to amaze me in my experiences at local hospitals Katoomba and Penrith the incredible care and compassion of direct health providers. It doesn't matter if it is a wards person, volunteer information person, admin person or direct health especially women I have found them to be attentive and kind. Offers of help if I look lost in buildings, attentiveness during treatment. I can't imagine the stresses of their day job dealing with distressed unwell, patients who consequently may not be at their best. Dealing with the institutions , demands, pressures of time and resources. Dealing with whatever is happening in their own lives. My great appreciation for their service
I had to present at the emergency department on Monday, having an injured finger with a suspected fracture.nThey were busy, no need to say. But I got triaged quickly, then waited for treatmentnEveryone was nice and helpful, they treated all patients as soon as possible.nUnfortunately long waits are part of an emergency department, but i was looked after very professionally and caringly.nThank you to all the staff, you are doing an extremely difficult job very well.
Nepean Hospital provided exceptional care for my mum Irene during her final days. The staff were compassionate, gentle, and attentive, treating her with dignity and respect at every moment. They supported our family through an incredibly difficult time, always explaining what was happening and making sure Mum was as comfortable as possible.nnI’m deeply grateful for the kindness, professionalism, and warmth shown by the nurses and doctors. Their care made a heartbreaking experience a little easier to bear, and my family will always appreciate the support we received at Nepean Hospital.
I am currently in the ward receiving treatment for a virus at Nepean Hospital, where I have been for the past four days. The professionalism exhibited by the nurses and doctors here is truly remarkable. In every department I have encountered—whether it be ophthalmology, MRI, or X-ray—the service has been exceptional.nnI am particularly impressed by the nurses who work tirelessly across both day and night shifts. They approach each patient with smiles and compassionate voices, consistently demonstrating empathy and care. I have witnessed them responding to calls from patients without any sign of frustration, even when the emergency button is pressed frequently. Personally, I have used the button multiple times and have never had to wait more than 30 seconds for assistance.nnI want to express my gratitude for your hard work and dedication to your profession. You truly make a significant difference in the lives of patients, often more than you may realize. Thank you.
My 97 year old Aunty had a stay in E3A. I cannot thank the team for the care ànd kindness they showed my Aunt. They were very good at keeping us informed ànd very thorough in there medical practices.nThank you
