I had a wonderful stay at Kamana Lakehouse, where everything from the atmosphere to the service felt genuinely thoughtful and well put together.nnA special mention has to go to Oliver, who was working in the restaurant/bar area. He delivered standout service…attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and effortlessly calm even when things were busy. He made the dining experience feel relaxed and well looked after from start to finish.nnAt the front desk, Siyad was equally impressive. From check-in to helping with small requests, he was warm, efficient, and consistently professional. He set the tone for the stay right away and made everything feel smooth and easy.nnOverall, the team made the experience memorable in the best way…not just the location and rooms, but the people behind it really elevated the stay.
Kamana boasts gorgeous views and claims to be a 4 star Hotel.nIn reality it is at best a 3 star motel similar to the likes of a Holiday Inn.nnWe stayed here for the last few nights of our honeymoon and after staying at some lovely hotels and having some greatexperiences, Kamana Lakehousr was quite a let down.nnWhen we arrived, we realized it is not a hotel, but a property with rooms and parking all around it.nnAll of the photos are of their restaurant and the views, none of which are accessible from their rooms. We were then informed that their soak pools had to be reserved 3 days in advance and had no views.nnWhen we got into our rooms they were fine. The towel quality was very poor and thin, clearly having been over washed. The bed was relatively comfortable and the sheets were nice.nnWe also ate at the restaurant one night which was ok, but not the best meal we had in town. And then in to of that, they undercharged us by a small amount at dinner their mistake then they added it to our room bill without telling us. In the restaurant industry if a server makes a mistake, the restaurant eats the cost, you dont chase down the guest 3 days later with a random chargennAll in all, for price of the room, I would recommend staying somewhere in Queenstown where you can walk to town and visit restaurants and shops.nnDon't be fooled by the pictures that you are going to get a view or expect a Luxury experience! Would not recommend.
We had such a beautiful stay at Kamana Lakehouse, everything from the views to the overall atmosphere was just incredible. The room was clean, cozy, and perfectly set up for a relaxing getaway, and the lake and mountain views were absolutely unforgettable.nnWe really enjoyed the breakfast in their restaurant it was the perfect way to start the day. The food well-prepared, and full of flavour, with a good variety to choose from. Everything felt thoughtfully put together, and you could really tell the quality was there. What made it even better was the atmosphere- having breakfast with those stunning lake and mountain views made the experience feel extra special.nnWhat truly made our experience stand out was the exceptional service. A special thank you to Andrea, the manager on duty, who went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome throughout our stay. It’s rare to come across such thoughtful and personal service, and it really made a difference for us.nnOverall, we had an amazing experience and would highly recommend Kamana Lakehouse to anyone visiting Queenstown. We’ll definitely be back!
A genuine 10/10 experience from start to finish. The accommodation was beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the service was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. The hot baths were a real highlight and the perfect way to relax while taking in the stunning surroundings. We also loved the convenience of being able to hire one of the on-site cars by the hour or day, which made exploring the area incredibly easy.nnA special thank you to Andrea, the Duty Manager, who showed exceptional kindness, care, and professionalism when we experienced a personal family issue during our stay. Her support and genuine compassion made a difficult situation much easier to navigate, and we are very grateful.nnEvery detail was thoughtfully considered. We would happily stay again and highly recommend Kamana Lakehouse to anyone visiting Queenstown.
We stayed at Kamana for 5 days in April 2026 and having stayed at a few Queenstown hotels now, I would say this stay was good.... but did fall short of expectations somewhat. The good:n- The service by staff at the front desk was phenomenal. Andrea and Jamie were always very pleasant and helpful. Always had a smile on their faces.n-The Nest restaurant is probably the best breakfast spot I have been to in Queenstown. Each dish is perfection and the options are vast and definitely caters to everyone. The service here as well was fantastic. I would definitely recommend having breakfast at the hoteln- The hot tubs are great.nnThe areas that need some work:n- Housekeeping was not the best. My room was not vacuumed for 3 days and was only done after I requested it. I should be not be requesting for what I thought would be a basic servicen- The room itself was average. Walls were damaged, carpets were stained, room lighting is practically non existent.n- Parking is a problem. Whilst this is provided at no charge, there aren't many available and because the property is shared with another residential development, there were issues that I witnessed on most mornings.nnOverall this was a good stay that definitely could improve with a bit better attention to detail.
