We celebrated our daughter’s baptism lunch in the Guest Room. Planning with Stephen was smooth and straightforward. Their functions menu fit well within our budget, and the food was lovely, receiving many compliments from our guests. However, the dishes were served one after the other rather than the sides being served alongside the mains, which would have been better. Nevertheless, it was a lovely meal and experience. Almost forgot about the free face painting for kids which our small guests enjoyed.
Visited on Tuesday during Quiz night so we sat at the restaurant. Ordered a steak it was cooked how I wanted they have plenty of beers on tap which is awesome.nThe staff was fantastic A+
I ordered a medium rare scotch fillet, and to be honest, it was not good. The outside feels overcooked even burnt in some parts that it taste so bitter. The inside is pretty juicy but couldn't really feel the juiciness due to the overcooked part. The mashed potatoes really helps get rid of this weird experience. Really enjoy the mashed potato and a glass of fruit burst, a non alcoholic, fruity cocktail.nThe other thing is that there were several times when we couldn't find any waitresses here, maybe it's too large, somewhere hidden in the back or there's just only a few of them. That's pretty annoying when you need to ask for your order, or when you just want to get more tissue.nPretty sure this can be improved. The atmosphere feels great and cozy! Not so crowded, so it's a good thing for us.
Appalling service. It was quiet but still took 30 minutes to receive drinks despite approaching staff twice . Food was only just warm definitely no where near hot and arrived well before the drinks. My friends 'spinach risotto' was inedible. We'd both never seen anything like it. When I complained, they didn't charge me for the food but it still ruined my birthday dinner.
This was the best meal I had in New Zealand. Everything was perfect - the service was impeccable and the food was delicious.nnWe had pita with hummus as starter and eye steak and lamb as main course - the meat was cooked to perfection.nAlso, I think this is the first restaurant where the side salad was actually a really good one and not a sad two leaves and a cherry tomato salad.nnI highly recommend this place.
