IG: 2Fish1ChipnnOrder: Supper for 1 - Tarakihi and half a scoop of chips with salad + Battered SausagenCost: $31nnThey dished me 3 smallish fillets which was plenty for 2 TBH. The fish was fresh as and was melt in your mouth material complimented by a crunchy golden shell. There was a slight issue though where the fillets held a lot of oil and where not only oily to the touch, but essentially overwhelmed the taste of fish and probably attributed to its textural integrity.nnThe battered sausage was good but like the fillets, it too was overly greasy, but it’s taste was not as overwhelmed by the oil.nnThe chips were great with the classic putter bite and the soft pillowy centre. The half scoop was a decent portion.nnThere was a lot going on with the leafy salad which has no place next to fish n chips! Coleslaw is the only acceptable salad lolnnDespite the high recommendations for this place, I gotta say the overall portions were above average but the overall experience was sub par.
Went there for dinner on Wednesday night. It was not too busy. Ordered 6 mussels, 6 oysters, a hot dog and a half order of shoestring fries with the order costing $26.30. The food was cooked well and the batter for hotdog, oysters and mussels were crispy and has a nice chew to it. The half order of fries was a big serving, delicious and good value for the price. I enjoyed the meal and will definitely be back.
My FAVOURITE fish & chips in town, while on the seaside of the the town nLove it for many years! Daily fresh fish & seafood selections, crispy chips & lovely sea views!
From the other reviews this place seems very hit and miss, for us unfortunately dinner tonight a big miss. Called to explain the order had no chips and yes despite owner saying we didn't order, Uber Eats receipt proves otherwise as did the sauce in the pack and after pulling all of the fish out of 2 fish supper meals, there was barely enough for one. Shop uninterested in feedback. Fair enough, but will never order again. So order at your risk, it seems some people get good service and some don't. For us expensive, poor quality food with poor service.
We had the halloumi burgers, and they were absolutely divine! SO much flavour and a lot of filling for $12. I would 110% recommend. Seatoun was such a cute place and we could eat by the sea as well
