WOW... what an incredible experience! The service was impeccable all through the night.. such lovely, friendly wait staff. The meals 3 were vegetarian were exquisite works of art with the most amazing taste combinations. It's hard to pick a favourite, they were all outstanding. We all loved every dish - fennel soup was so interesting and divine, and the blackcurrant dish was such an absolute delight to end an incredible evening. The lemoncello cocktail was the best we have ever had, and as it was my daughters 21st we were given on the house drinks which actually made me cry, I was so touched by the gesture and generosity! We all agreed it was by far the best dining experience we have ever had, and we are so grateful for such a special way to spend a 21st birthday. Thank you all

Celebrated my wife’s birthday with dinner at 50/50. Superb 6 course taste experience with highly efficient and knowledgeable wait team and impressively imaginative dishes that delighted the palate without threatening the waistline. I’d recommend this restaurant to any of my rich friends. And all the poor ones too. Don’t miss this hidden gem.

There is nothing else like this I’m sure in the lower north island, maybe even NZ. Such an experience, Helen delightfully says hello from the kitchen as you are seated, even though she is so focused on creating the most amazing dishes for us. Staff are impeccable and engaging. I mean where else do you get hot towels to refresh your hands with when you enter other than first class travel. Lighting, music even the toilet is impeccable. The cuisine is absolutely mind blowing. We had the 9 course degustation for the second visit again. So much variety and use of local produce. Never fails to impress me, you honestly feel like you’ve stepped in another world. Thank you 50/50 we are lucky to have you in the beautiful Kapiti Coast!!

The most amazing food I've tried to date. Every course was exquisite the service was exceptional. Helen was so calm throughout the evening plating up works of art. Really relaxed atmosphere. We most definitely will be back.

Some of the best fine dining dishes I've had in New Zealand! I had the 9 course menu and every single course was surprising and creative and also incredibly delicious. The atmosphere is nice and cozy while staying relaxed and unpretentious and the food is absolutely top-notch. Highly recommend!
