Highly rated for a reason. Very popular restaurant with a varied menu at reasonable prices. We were there on a Friday night and had to wait for a table but was seen to as quickly as possible. We ordered the Nasi Goreng and Cha koay Teow and both dishes were delicious. The staff were working feverishly to take and serve orders and the meals did not take long to deliver. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.
Best Malaysian cuisine in Wellington. Every dish was generously portioned. Suggest coming in on empty stomach. Staff well aware of halal requirements. Fried rice and Char Kuay Teow were exceptional 10/10.
Little Penang is one of the most authentic Nyonya Malaysian restaurants in Wellington. The flavours, environment, and cleanliness are all excellent, creating a very comfortable dining experience. The staff are also extremely friendly and welcoming.nnWe ordered the Penang Char Kway Teow, Nyonya Curry, Hokkien Prawn Mee, and Penang Laksa — every dish was delicious and tasted truly authentic.nHighly recommended — a must-try when you’re in Wellington!
Came to this place with my other three friends. We had Malaysian food at another restaurant yesterday and this easily beat it. I ordered the clay pot but was a little disappointed that the rice wasn't crispy at the bottom of the pot. However, the sambal that comes with every dish really hits the spot. I've never tasted one that gives such a great spicy kick. The curry I tried was like Massaman Thai curry I'm Thai and it was so nostalgic. Moreover, our table had many requests but the waiters still put up with us with such a smile. Thank you so much. It was such a lovely experience to dine there.
Old time favourite in Wellington when it comes to Malaysian cuisine, even before they moved to Victoria St. The staff here are very friendly and accomodating. The food are delicious yet affordable with generous portion. They also sell Malaysian treats such as kuih lapis and kuih talam. It's a must if you are visiting Wellington, especially if you miss Malaysian food!
