I absolutely had to stop in because I was craving the Salmon & Herb Hush Cake. This café sits along the road with a lineup of deli-style meals and a menu you’d expect from a full-on restaurant. I used to walk past it all the time, but the other day when I ordered a flat white, I spotted the Salmon & Herb Hush Cake in the cabinet and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I promised myself I’d make time to come back...and I’m so glad I did.nThere’s only outdoor seating available, but it’s not bad at all. What really stood out to me was how friendly and genuine the staff were; just top-notch service that really leaves a good impression. I dropped in during the morning, and it honestly set a great tone for the rest of my day.nIt might not look like much from the outside, but once you’re in, you’ll be surprised by how extensive the menu is. And the Salmon & Herb Hush Cake? It’s basically a full-blown Eggs Benedict—and a generous one at that! You won’t find anything like it for just $15 anywhere else. Highly recommended!

We’ve had an amazing catering experience with Ripe Deli. They were accommodating to our needs and preferences. The website showed a lot of food options and good photos for reference.nnIt is on the pricier side, but you can’t beat good quality and presentation.

Coffee is great and the slices are delicious! I forgot the name of the slice I got but it was soft, moist, not too sweet, rich and went great with my coffee.

Everything in the cabinet looks fresh, colourful, and thoughtfully made — from vibrant salads packed with flavour to hearty mains that feel homemade but elevated. Their coffee is consistently excellent, and the baked goods especially the slices and muffins are dangerously good.nnThe staff are friendly, quick, and genuinely seem to care about what they do — even during the busy lunch rush. The atmosphere has that perfect Grey Lynn balance: relaxed but stylish, with a steady hum of locals grabbing their regulars.nnWhether you’re after a nourishing takeaway lunch, a post-gym smoothie, or something a little indulgent, Ripe always delivers. It’s a local gem that never disappoints.

The salad bowls here are quite good. We also bought 2 frozen packs of chicken broth. They get a little busy during lunch hours. Coffee was good too. They make whole cakes which you can order off the website. The only place in Auckland we found that does hummingbird cake.
