My go-to place for all my personal and business tech supplies. On average, it's always been a great experience. One point, find someone with both the technical knowledge you require and focus on providing advice instead of a quick sale. I have found of late that it's worth doing a price comparison. Surprisingly, I have found much getter deals elsewhere for the same model and product.
The worst customer service ever.nWent to ask them to repair my motherboard as the ram slots were not working. 2 WEEKS WAIT to hopefully replace my motherboard. Completely their fault. Asked them for compensation as that long without main pc is really annoying. Emailed them concerning the issue over a week ago. No response just pay the premium at computer lounge or go to extreme pcs it's not worth it
Some products are lack of price tags on them. Staff are too busy to greet customer.
I gave them my laptop to repair on 26 June, and confirmed on 30 June accepting the quote and go ahead with the repair. PB Tech's repair sheet says average repair time 7-10 days, but my job finish ETA was given 17 July 2025. The repair job: change motherboard and battery. I call on 18 July, and every subsequent day since, emailed them, lodged an enquiry and a compalint via their website, followed up - but nada. No response, initial two conversations, staff do not have a clue what happened to my laptop.nnAlso, when you give out of warranty items to repair, they outsource it to a third party but charge you a premium price for repair, and this is the service they provide. If at all you are going to give it to a third party, why should I or anyone bother paying you premium for your brand name, and receive such an abysmal service - I would directly go to a local or another much reliale repair shop. Probably, we should now support more local businesses that way, rather than relaying on tech chain who doesn't give a damn about the customer and their service expectations.nnEven if there's a delay due to unforeseen circumstances or situations not in their control, I should be updated on email, call or text message, but no, nothing whatsoever, and none of their staff has a clue what's going on.nnI always trusted PB Tech, but no more, I cannot spend a penny with you again.nnMy next action, probably reach out to Consumer NZ and Commerce Commission and see if PB Tech care to respond with their intervention if they can.
Horrible customer service, and I’ll explaim why: had to take my faulty phone for repair, no problems there, it was the second time that device faulted. The first time I took it to new market, they sent to manufacturer, got repaired, all good and dainty until it stopped working again.nSecond time now I took it to Penrose because it was closer from my home, they transferred the job, apparently no issues and this time I asked for a refund because if the same device is faulty after the first repair maybe it’s not meant to be.nnThey sent my phone to the manufacturer again, that was the 26 of May and they told me it would take 3 weeks.nnHeard absolutely NOTHING about until I complained about it 4 weeks later, mid June. 2 more weeks on the 1st of July they send me a message to return all accessories to issue the refund.nn“Nice! Progress!” I thought, I returned the charger the next day to an older dude at the counter and waited.nnThen on the 11th of July I received the same message about returning all accessories -what the heck?- that was Friday, and I didn’t see the message until late so there was nothing I could do. Monday the 15th I tried to call them about it, multiple times, different times of the day, NO ONE ANSWERED! Today I got sick of it and went there to ask about it.nnThe same old man that took the charger on the 2nd was there and I told him about the problem, he started doubting me I dropped the item in the first place, asking when, who and how? I told him I gave it to him personally! He went to look in the camera of the day I said I dropped to see what happened, then started blaming the fact that I transferred the job from New Market to Penrose, and blah blah blah. Dude LOST MY CHARGER and now I have to wait even more!! I haven’t had a phone for 2 months because I don’t want to waste my money on a temporary one, I have 3 thousand dollars on hold because this old man couldn’t do his job right.nnI’m angry typing at this point but anywaynnTLDR: trying to get refund for faulty phone for 2 months and need to wait even more because old man at the counter lost the charger that should go with the phone.
