Park Hyatt Auckland is phenomenal. My friend and I got in pretty early from an international flight and while our rooms weren’t ready, they gave us a key to use the spa area which had showers. Truly the best feeling after a long flight. When we did have a room ready for us, they upgraded us to a room with a view of the harbor for no reason and no charge!.nnThe room itself was cozy, the beds comfy. The customer service was out of this world. Mary at the front desk was just next level friendly. I was actually bummed to leave this hotel, it really was such a great experience. Cannot recommend enough.
The moment my mum and I came in we were greeted by Hansel who was amazing to talk to, friendly and welcoming.nnWhen we walked into the lobby Beau the resident dog greeted us, very sweet.nnThe staff were super helpful for showing us where everything was as well as being kind and friendly.nnMum and I went to The Living Room for their Afternoon Tea service and the views of the harbour as we waited after being seated were relaxing and made the atmosphere even more relaxing and easy to chat or enjoy the view.nnThe Afternoon Tea itself was incredible, delicious this doesn't begin to describe how tasty it was, plated gorgeously. The staff who brought it to the table explained what was there and let us enjoy it.nnThere were many tea choices for the Afternoon Tea and the ones we had were refreshing and delightful.nnI asked on the morning of the reservation I made if I could get a cake for mum as it was an early birthday for her, and we got a cake slice that was beautiful.
Let me start with my one concern and then I’ll wax on and on about how amazing it was. The thermostats are governed and it was cold in my room. After setting the temperature, I waited and it never got warmer so I called the front desk who then sent up engineering and they turned the governor off, but it only worked in one room and the other was still cold. Not great service in my opinion.nnI didn’t take a star away for that though because the place was incredible and the service superb. Our rooms were ready early, they made us free flat whites when we had to leave extra early and no coffee was available. The restaurant was great. Food was delicious. Globalist free breakfast was a buffet AND ordered food. My favorite. This was really one of my favorite Hyatts ever. The room just couldn’t be beat. Just wish I hadn’t needed to heat the room by blast hot water in the shower.
Once again, many reviews sound like public relations advertisements. First hand experience shows the management is discourteous and somewhat rude. They are not customer oriented. The facilities are ok, but somewhat dated. At the price point, the hotel should be incredible. It’s just ok. You can get similar or better service at other places for half the price.
It was a great experience from the moment I pulled in to the moment I drove out. The staff has been exceptional and proactive at every step. The location could not have been any better, with proximity to everything in downtown Auckland.nThe property is well maintained, with many Māori cultural details.nHighly recommended.
