Story

Nestled in the leafy suburb of Merivale, which has retained much of the charm and graciousness of the early Christchurch estates, Merivale Manor is a fashionable complex of studios, suites and apartments for the discerning traveller.

At its heart is the heritage listed Manor House, built in 1882 and lovingly restored in 2014 to and comprise ten beautifully appointed Manor studios and suites. Immediately adjacent are eight Spa Studios featuring jetted tubs, separate showers and fully appointed kitchenettes. Additionally, for family or group accommodation there are seven tastefully decorated townhouse apartments

Surrounded by narrow streets and lanes where many of the original cottages have been restored, The Manor is just a short stroll from the Merivale Village which features many of the city's favourite restaurants, cafe's and bars. The Merivale Mall with its supermarket, boutiques and upmarket shopping means those little things you might need are always close by.

Great Wedding Anniversary stay. My wife and I chose this place because of the old style building with great furnishings and reviews. Merivale Manor did not disappoint. The Peacock Suite upstairs at the rear of the building was very well appointed and comfortable. Karen the host was very welcoming and friendly. The location is only a minute or two from Merivale where shops and eateries are situated. We'll be back.
Check which room they have placed you in because to sleep out the front you’re going to need the world’s best noise blocking gear. Traffic rumbled past our room ALL night midweek and I’m not sure we slept a wink. So no matter how good our Superior Studio with Spa was really just a glorified motel room it wasn’t much good if you couldn’t sleep. We were the front corner right room as you drive in but I’m not sure any of those rooms out front would be much quieter
The hosts and staff were very accommodating making our 10 night stay an absolute pleasure. Our room was very clean, fresh and adequately equipped. The bed was extremely comfortable being the highest quality we have slept in any hotel in travels across Africa and Europe. Every effort was made by the hosts and staff to meet our every need which included the best flat white coffee enjoyed on the patio of the manor house. Thank you.

The facilities are absolutely fantastic! The staff are very friendly. The Lord and Lady of the Manor are loads of fun, great company during my long term stay. It’s within walking distance from the Merivale Mall for all your daily requirements and a brisk walk away from Hagley Park surrounding Botanical Gardens. Just lovely, thank you folks, for being part of a fantastic adventure.

Very friendly owners made us feel welcomed. Rooms were immaculate cozy felt homely. Very cimftable beds heating throughout the room . Perfectly clean rooms would definitely stay here again when I traveling up or down...Rooms: 5/5
I stayed at Merivale Manor for 3 nights while my nephew was having an operation. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable and warm. The owners have worked hard on the place and the grounds were immaculate. The owners were very approachable, they gave me advice on where to go for dinner and what to see around the place. The bus stop was just outside the accommodation and there were electric scooters to get around on. You will not be disappointed staying here!
This place is the best for service and pride in the premises and they have the best pillows in all of New Zealand. The service came with a smile. The beautiful touches of a flower with my breakfast tray is synonymous with the best hotels anywhere in the world. Am I raving about this place yet. I made a mistake with my booking and woke them up oops ....my bad still the smiles were there. I fully enjoyed my day off. I had booked another place for my return but I cancelled to book in again at the Manor... Try it because I am very fussy but they made it a very pleasant unexpected surprise.
