I usually love this place and enjoy staying here. It might be that the last few times I've been there, it's been for work that I get the horrible rooms. They smell a little and while very clean and well looked after, I just don't feel as welcoming. Going there for personal visit this week so will see if it's better when I'm not corporate lol. Customer service is always great and the food is delicious. It's a great location. So central to everything in Wellington and easy parking if you have a car.
Really nice room. The beds were amazing! Nice bathroom. Service was great. Located in a great area where you don't need to drive anywhere, you can just walk. Really easy checkout. We really enjoyed our stayRooms: 5/5
Unfortunately our stay could have been a lot better. Few issues. First, I advised the hotel my friend would be checking in before me, however that I would be paying on my arrival. Cool, no issues. When my friend arrived, she was given the room to a key that people had already checked into. Much to their delight my friend walked in to an occupied room. Awkward. So said friend returned to reception to get a new room key. New room was significantly smaller and the quality was not as good as our initial room. We asked the hotel, given it was their mistake, to put us in the same type of room if not a free upgrade? To no avail. Then, while in the new room at approximately 4-5am our door randomly is widely opened- maybe someone else was given the key to our room as it was definitely locked? Again, no compensation or apology from the hotel staff.
I had a corner room on the 21st floor. Good view, room was spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. King bed was 2 beds joined together and join was uncomfortable. Very large bathroom but for some reason the toilet was ridiculously close to the wall, so much so that you touched the wall while using it. Walkability: Has lift to Lambton Quay
This was a really enjoyable stay for me. Highlight was hearing an employee have cheerfull and helpful conversations with other guests over breakfast. When he came to my table he just politely asked if he could take the empty plates as I sat there drinking my strong black coffee. So friendly helpful and the man can read the mood!Rooms: 5/5
Very ordinary hotel in this price range. They charged NZD 606 for a night without breakfast for a room that was just ordinary. Above this price, charged 2% extra if you use a credit card. When asked why, there was a strange reply no other customer asked this question before. The better hotels around like intercontinental and Double Tree charge less and never does it to the customer. Location is good though. Not sure will chose this hotel again.
Was alright to stay for a couple nights. Service was great. Location great. Bummer about the gym not open before 830am on weekends because of apparent noise to guests. Too late for us, as wanted to have a cheeky workout before the days plans. But oh well.Rooms: 3/5
The lounge on the 26th is great, lovely view and great to work out just chill. Rooms are adequate, nothing to fancy. Beds a bit soft for my liking but certainly doable. Breakfast is a bit weird, they seem to boil the bacon, making it soft and squishy... And grey! Dinner steak was great although potatoes were bland and uninspired, and the cheese plate overpriced. Staff is lovely.
Spacious rooms. Great comfy bed. Very clean. Friendly staff. Avoid breakfast. Expensive and the worst food and coffee I have ever had. I paid full price for two pieces of toast as that's all you could eat. Dinner was beautiful and the ladies that looked after us were amazing. Food & drinks: Avoid breakfast. Dry and not edible.
The rooms are a good, but only two shampoos etc for four people for two nights was poor judgement. Also annoying is paying $30 per day for parking and each time you go out you have to get a new access card to get back in. Each time you have to wait for someone to come from the back and the taxi drivers are very unhappy about anyone in their spot - even when all other spots are full!
