Basic, clean, friendly and fantastic value in a great position near the city centre 10 mins walk to Beehive. It’s awesome to see ‘Old School’ pub accommodation still exists where you can ‘choose’ to have a shared toilet/shower space, to remember life before the en suite! Oh and it’s a great pub downstairs with real good food. The mussels were superb. And to top it all - free parking. Thank you - I will be back. Parking: Free parking for guests

I meet friends here often after work on a Friday. During 4-6 pm you can role a dice to sometimes get a reduction on drinks. The beer and service is great. The food is nice and they support local rugby. Nice sun with some space for outside sitting.

The bangers and mash... Wow, best I've had... Ever. Waited for table service for long periods of time whilst the staff sat the bar and talked. Jumped up to organise a dessert menu only to hear that the kitchen was 5 minutes from closing... We were glad we didn't wait any longer for service. The beer selection is good... Like I said, the food was awesome. The service... Needs a bit of proactivity about it.

We arrived early for check in but they held our bags for us, which was nice. The facility is worn out and the out of reach places had not been cleaned in a long time. The stairs leading to the room were wet and dirty. The room itself looked newly renovated. It had sky TV box that was not connected to the TV and a fridge that didn't work. we noticed the next day when our leftovers had rotted in the heat. The bathroom was small but useable but once again suffered from a lack of thorough cleaning. There was mold all over the ceiling and spider webs up high. The bed was super comfortable and we did get fresh towels every day. It was extremely hot when we visited and the one fan provided was not really up to the task. The best thing about this place is the location. It is a short 10 minutes walk into town.

Popped in for a quick dinner. Not overly busy, so didn't have to wait too long for our food order. Nice friendly staff.Food: 5/5

Beautiful little hidden gem! Very gorgeous inside and out. Had the cheeseburger, the meat had a funky wee taste to it. Apart from that, lovely dining experience!

Highly recommend. We had a dinner of 8 people. Food came out quickly and the flavour was amazing on everything. Service was perfect too. Will be back definitely.

Stayed there for two nights. This place is old and stinky. Had two rooms booked. One room was okay. Second room had a dirty smell. But the guy who came to check could not smell. I guess he had got used to that stink. All he would say is to leave the window open and sleep. Also gave us a room freshner. No much facilities. Things were old and dirty. Only good thing is that we got fresh towles the next day.

Excellent venue with a rich history. Great covered smokers area. Friendly staff & excellent food. TAB for the punters. Lovely historical photos everywhere. A real delightful place for a drink.

Run down broken and in need of a significant makeover. Overpriced for what you get. Pay $20 more a night and stay somewhere much nicer. Walls so thin you can hear every word whispered in the other rooms. Beds are at least 20 years old and uncomfortable. Only upsides was the dual head shower and sky tv. Would never stay again unless extremely desperate.
