Econo Lodge City Central

Positives are really great location and we were able to get this hotel with American Express points. People at desk were friendly. It was also clean enough. Negatives are the rooms are tiny and hostel like. The shower was basic and the shower head is very low, so if you are more than 5 foot 3 or 4 inches you will struggle to wash your hair. Also the smoke alarm is set off by the steam from the shower.

OK so the room was really small... That is reflected correctly in the price. But for location cleanliness, friendliness and amenities... Simply wonderful. Parking easy. Will stay again and again. Can't be beaten value for money and friendly service.

It's important to understand this is a review of a BUDGET hotel. The rooms are quite small but ok. You have en suite bathroom, air con, tv and fridge. We ordered breakfast with our stay and you had a good selection of options again this was fine. The location of the hotel is great, right in the city centre. It was clean enough and the staff were helpful and friendly. There is also car parking at a discounted rate next door. Don't expect a 4 or 5 star experience you Will be disappointed. However for a city centre budget hotel it's good. I would use it again.

Good sized comfortable room with air con. Was right beside the street but it wasn't noisy at all-though it was a Sunday night. Bathroom was clean. Little fridge, tea&coffee making facilities- all the usual. Really good for being so central

Small rooms, but cosy... Clean and neat bathroom.. the bed was a bit too soft for me.. i prefer firm mattresses.. room had an iron and ironing board as well... 1 issue is that the walls r too thin, so noise passes easily. In terms of location, this place is good... Jus a few steps away from queens street..

You can't judge a book by it's cover. The lobby looks very nice but the rooms do not reflect the quality - this is definitely a budget hotel. The room I was in was clean enough but the mirror was mouldy/corroded. The room didn't even have a fridge. However, if all you are after is a bed then you're fine.

Sadly I encountered one of the rudest most aggressive and cold front line staff members in hospitality that I have ever met in my forty years of travel.I was left bewildered and shamed by a simple miss understanding on my behalf after having paid in full online for my two nights accommodation. Really saddened by this experience in my country of birth,especially as I work in hospitality myself and would have possibly lost my job,or had a stern warning if I had of talked to a guest this way. I felt it important to review my experience as after feeding this back to a manager,all I requested was an apology from the staff member.This never ensued. The housemaids were more friendly than this particular receptionist.However the room was clean,the location great,the price awesome too. Regards So ja

Decent value for the price, but the compact rooms are TINY and the wifi was out all 3 days/2 nights we were there. Vouchers for computer time in the lobby were appreciated, but not what I'd hoped for. Also, the bathroom was TINY and the shower sprayed everywhere weights in the curtain might have helped.

Old fixtures, overpriced and poor quality in house breakfast option wiFrw'ithon site restaurant' being 2 bay maries and some fruit and cereal on plates - for $18.50. Freezing cold rooms with no aircon controls in room. Staff dont seem too friendly between the 3 different staff dealt with so far, dripping taps in bathroom, clicking and noisy fridge which is right next to your ear with the small room and dirty mouldy shower curtin. Price is good, great convienient location but the comfort and experience wasnt enough to make me enjoy or recommend this hotel.

Central location, perfect for tourists. Within walking distance from CBD attractions. Small rooms, not great for long business stays. Walls are thin, so if you have loud neighbours, you will hear them. Staff were fantastic and helpful
