Copthorne Hotel Auckland City

The service staff was outstanding! The room not so much...see pictures. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned as seen by the razor we didn't bring in the shower and the mold in the shower and the bottom of the door. The room had a bolt lock that actually didn't have a hole in the door frame for it. The bed sloped down on the head side of the bed and the pillows were too big to sleep with. Not really a view from our room.nThe room itself was functional and reasonably clean. Breakfast was good. The front desk personnel and bar tenders were hard working good people filling at least 2 jobs each!

Our flight was delayed so I emailed the hotel to let them know. When we arrived 8 hours later than expected, they were very surprised to see us. I noted our reservation was in the 'no show' pile. It then took quite some time to allocate us a room. The room was ok but furniture was a bit shabby. The bed was comfortable and nice view.

We've stayed here twice. The harbour view rooms are excellent value at around $140 direct. Bar and restaurant service are truly exceptional- well done, team! Food is extremely high quality- dinner incredible and full buffet breakfast very good value for $28. Location is 10-15min walk from viaduct, so very central. Parking fee of $30 a little irritating but another hotel nearby wanted $60, for 1 night!!! Auckland parking prices are a rip! Comfy, clean, and quiet. Excellent value.

Top service from staff. Efficient, understanding, and helpful. Rooms and general decor are probably due an upgrade, but it is comfortable. Good beds, and great aircon! Slept well, and didn't hear Construction noise at bottom of the hill on Beach Road. Handy to town, and a quick walk to Commercial Bay shops and eateries, although this hotel has a good kitchen, with regular prices. Buffet breakfast is great at $28, but you can get a good eggs Benedict for $17.

Lovely and cosy older style hotel. The bed was so comfortable and I had the best sleep that i've had in a long time. The room was a comfortable temperature but had a built in heater to use if needed. The staff here are friendly, accomodating, and approachable. I would absolutely return here.
