Copthorne Hotel Auckland City

After several hours travelling, we were tired when we arrived. But we we weren't as tired as the room we'd be given.nnIt desperately needs refurbishment as most of the fittings seem to date from some point in the last century.nnIt also has none of the accoutrements you'd expect from a hotel with a four star rating - eg shower gel and shampoo pots.nnThat said, it was clean, the staff were efficient and friendly and it is only a few minutes from downtown.

Nice clean hotel, with a nice restraunt and polite staff, comfortable bed, I asked for a cot to be in the room for my baby and there wasn't one but I'd only just booked before arriving and we were tired so after dinner went straight to sleep in the bed together anyway so that was OK. Was nice and quiet, the other guests were friendly and respectful.nHave had some bad experiences with hotels in the past but was very happy with this one

The hotel is conveniently located in the CBD. The rooms are a bit small to open multiple suitcases however we upgraded to junior suite which had plenty of space with harbour view. The food at the restaurant is pretty good esp buffalo chicken. A massive thank you to the front desk manager Simer Singh who was always there to help and understood exactly what we needed. At times went above and beyond his duty to ensure we were comfortable. Claudia was also very helpful and knew what she was doing even though it was her first week in the job. Rea from the restaurant is very nice, polite and helpful. We stayed for over a week and had a pleasant time.

We arrived earlier than our check-in time and had just been hoping to leave luggage with the front desk until we could check in, however, the staff let us check in early since the room was already ready. It was a lifesaver after the 12 hour plane ride! Very positive experience with the staff and the restaurant connected to the hotel. Also a great place to stay if you're hoping to be close to lots of things to do in Auckland.

I booked a room for two days, but on the first day, they gave me a very bad room with an untidy bathroom. I requested a room change, and the next day, I was given a new room. Later, when I returned with my family, there was no parking space available. The receptionist told me to park on the roadside, but there was no parking space nearby either. Overall, it was a terrible experience. I ended up checking out that night. The hotel is very poorly managed.
