Last Friday around 11:30, I went there to have my blood drawn. The Center has been renamed and no familiar faces. A nurse, notably of Indian descent, pricked my arm several times and eventually drawn blood from an unusual spot, leaving my arm sore and bruised until now 4 days already. No apology. No smile. Not a word. Sad and painful experience. When it was formerly Labtest, nurses were much more friendly and professional.nIf you’re considering going there for blood draw, I advise you to think again.
My wife had her blood drawn at Eastmed Labtest two days ago and a lady nurse named Terrier helped her.nMy wife has terrible experiences drawing blood as nurses complain that her veins are difficult to find. Her arms would be bruised every time after her blood was drawn.nThis time, however, Terrier makes all the difference in the world! My wife told Terrier of her anxiety seeing the needle, and Terrier showed my wife her own bruise from her last blood draw. Then she laughed it off and talked to my wife cheerfully, and before my wife knew it, two tubes of blood had been drawn and my wife didn’t notice her arm was pricked! Got it at one go! Amazing!nGood job and bless you, Terrier. Your empathy has made my wife so happy and eventually free from the guilt of having “bad” veins. She asked me to write this review because of your kindness and genuine concern for the patients. Thank you so much!
Staff are unfriendly and do not acknowledge patients waiting at the desk.nThe waiting period was over one hour. Not good service. Air conditioner temperature was set up very low or some “snowflake” option, many people was feeling extremely cold. And as a quick note: most of the people in the waiting room was over 70 years old.nUsing the “card system” is just an excuse to not hire more staff and completely ignore people. Terrible “help your self” system. Not fair for all those people that have to spend more than 1 hour.
I have a huge needle phobia, especially for blood tests. I have had horrible experiences in the past, in hospitals and general doctors. I had a young nurse in St Heliers this past weekend who was so kind and gentle with me, I actually came out and said oh that not that bad! Just want to say a huge thank you to her!! She got out a small needle and made sure I was comfortable too - really appreciate it :
The young Indian lady was friendly although had to went back for extra blood tubes as she thought one tube was enough for two different test. Also provided her with email beforehand but still waited 12 days then had to contact nurse to get the result sent because she forgot or mistook again :/ was not happy with the experience at all.
