Absolutely loved this cinema! Watched Fantastic Four in the Standard cinema Cinema 1, and the architecture fit the film’s aesthetic so well!
Came here for the eclat premiere of the Amateur with wifey. A beautiful Retro cinema with a great atmosphere. Would benefit from recliners for those with bad backs like myself, but overall it was great.
My friend and I came to watch a movie last night. The cinema people forgot about us and didn’t turn the lights off when the movie started. We sat there for 5 minutes not being able to see the screen due to the lights being on. I went all the way downstairs to ask for the lights to be turned off. The worker who helped me barely apologised. We missed out on the first 10 minutes of the movie and not that I’m complaining because I want anything but we weren’t even offered a free drink or a proper apology for the massive inconvenience.nnI emailed village and the response was just excuses lol. Could have maybe offered a movie voucher for next time or something since they ruined this movie for us lol. We will not be returning to this cinema again.nnShould have never strayed away from independent cinemas, something this dumb would not happen there.
Whoever is the man with glasses that was working tonight, staunching my daughter in the cinema when she was trying to leave the cinema room as the movie finished & bear in mind she is half deaf, you startled her. Obviously she won’t respond nor even heard you properly if you came up to her like that…nnShe was nice to everyone when she asked for directions to the cinema & said her kind goodbye as she left.nnThen she turned around and everyone was laughing and looking at her, she doesn’t know what was said as she’s half deaf but in that instance you know that he’s said something rude. How disrespectful & what a first time -never again!..nnShe couldn’t hear you & wanted watch her favourite childhood movie, Disgraceful.nnI don’t know why this place has high ratings when he was rude from the start. She has her earphones in so I can be with her & she sent me a video to show she was finished so I could pick her up.nnAnd you threaten to call the police?? You’re kidding me, what a joke. Highly do NOT recommend this place if you go alone & even with a special need…
I went across town last night, had a meal and then saw a movie at this grand old dame of a cinema.nI hadn't been in may be 25 years. She's lost none of her old charm.nKeep up the good work!nJA
