I've been 4 times this summer to the Moonlight Cinema. If you sign up to Cinebuzz you can get tickets for $15! Dogs are welcome and we always bring a picnic and some wine. Make sure to get there before 7 to get up near the front. As you can see from the picture below, we got there at 8pm and sat at the back. Not to worry, you can still see the screen. Ice-cream, popcorn, hot food and beverage stands are available until the trailers start (approx 8.45)

The biggest screen I have seen! Loved the outdoor setting, the staff were great and very helpful. Just take note that you can only exit through gate D afterwards so be prepared to walk a bit back to your car if it's not parked close to Gate D. Also, take warm things like a blanket as it gets cold at night there. We had a great night with our picnic and family group. It was great to see an old favourite movie and to be with a crowd who loved it too - Dirty Dancing rocks!

We had a great experience watching the greatest showman under a beautiful night sky. It was my first time to go to an outdoor cinema and it was amazing to see how many people could be seated on the grass area. We got there at about 5:10pm but there was already a long queue waiting to get into the venue. At first I was a bit concerned whether we’d be able to get a good spot but the staff onsite seemed very experienced and they gave clear directions for people to find the right spots to stay. There was food trucks and people walking around selling snacks and ice cream. We brought our own dinner to eat so it just felt great like we were having a picnic before it got too dark. Everyone seemed to be cuddled in blankets and pillows looking very cosy and comfy as we were also lucky to have brought our own sleeping bags and cushions. We’ll definitely go back next year and most likely try the gold grass area! It looked quite convenient for them to just walk in having reserved spot of their own.

EDITED: I went back to the cinema on a sold out day. It seems they have solved many of the problem with chairs blocking views (there is now a designated chair area) and perhaps limited the number of tickets. We got there 30 minutes before the gates opened in order to get the best possible area. Once the gates opened they let people in quickly. I had a very positive experience with the staff members. I would definitely recommend hiring a bean bag lounge for $9! ORIGINAL: 3 STARS I've been a couple of times and have loved it. Unfortunately I think the ammount of tickets available is too high. We got there quite early and spent 30 minutes in a line to get in with prebought tickets, and then all the good places were taken. 1 hour later and more people were still flooding in, until we were squashed in like sardines. It is still an interesting experience, and I love having a picnic dinner in the gardens, but I much preferred it when there were less people a couple of years ago (not sure if it was popularity or ticket availability). Make sure to bring picnic rugs, pillows and lots of food as what is available is extremely overpriced

Before the film started, we were amazed at the masses of fruit bats 🦇 that flew over. Afterwards, these could be seen swarming around the well-lit provincial building. We saw the film "Wonder" - add "full" to the end and it perfectly describes the whole evening experience! I don't think they have Moonlight cinema's, here in the UK! 🇬🇧 🙄
