Excellent boutique cinema experience. Best time to come is Tuesday as it’s $8/12 tickets for members/non members highly recommend becoming a member. Most places around here is unrestricted parking after 6pm. The cinemas are small seats roughly 60 I say but the seats are comfortable. The other major selling point is it’s location, excellent options to eat before or after your movie session.
This cinemas just had a great feel to it. A nostalgic feel like a cinemas that you would visit as a kid in the 90s…that being said the seats are a little on the smaller side and can feel a little cramped compared to the bigger chain cinemas but the bigger downside is the parking. Near by areas have 2 hrs which is annoying if the movies runs past it. We had to park in a paid spot only a couple of mins walk away. All in all I would definitely go back as long as it’s not a peak hour new releases on the first day
Classic old-school cinema showing new releases and old favourites with super comfy on-the-large-side seats. Good selection of drinks, treats and snacks. We attended a local school’s in house film festival which was well organised.
We watched the James Bond movie at the rooftop cinema and it was a great experience. Fun vibe, plenty of space for wheelchair or pram access, view was amazing and the rooftop bar was a plus. You get a headphone too but it was crackly throughout the movie so was a bit annoying. 2 types of timber & fabric chairs - front row is a lower beach chair type and the rest are like directors chair type. It was a very cold night when we went and we rugged up plus brought a blanket but something they could do better when its a very cold / windy night is to put the 2 outdoor heaters from near the bar to the seating area so audience can get some warmth. Anyway, go on a warmer day so you’re not thinking about other gold class comfort and it’s fun! ;
The entryway for Lido Cinemas Hawthorn is situated half way down the arcade strip and easily accessible. The food options are sufficient and they also have frozen drinks that are ‘a must’ on those hot summer days. I like that they have a rooftop cinema and hold many events themed movie nights / weeks which promotes our community. All in all, it’s a pretty decent cinema.
Lovely historic cinema, with a big screen for new releases and special events, and smaller cinemas with a chill, familiar vibe. The jazz room is quite small, but they have heaps of fantastic community events and affordable deals for students. Love their mulled wine in winter!
I love going to the movies on a Sunday afternoon and the Lido is close and always a pleasure. Bullet Train was action packed and I loved it.Brad Pitt is still doing it and Joey King was amazing.$5 movie tickets at the moment make it icing on the cake.
Great cinema! Lovely, kind staff. Free beer with a film and the popcorn is great too!
Rooftop cinema was not a great film experience. Chairs so uncomfortable only a few laid back ones available in front row . Sound quality with headphones crackly whole way through movie, even had to get a new headset. Movie wasn't bright enough or the screen wasn't dark enough so could hardly see parts of movie. The rooftop has a vibe but not good for watching a 3 hour movie.
Went to the Lido on a beautiful hot Sunday evening. Upstairs to the Rooftop Bar and that's where it started to go downhill. The bar does not accept cash. The beer on tap was too frothy and couldn't be poured. The Lemon Lime and Bitters was flat and other customers complained about it too. The staff offered a refund, but the Supervisor had to do it, so we waited and waited. Finally when the Supervisor came, she couldn't do it, so needed to go back downstairs. Apart from the Rooftop bar experience, everything else was good.
