Recently had a visit to the ED which led to an extended stay on Level 7 in the gastroenterology department. The nurses, food and cleaning staff all have my highest praise as they were exceptional and went above and beyond every time. Especially the nurses Bella and Sarah nBut the medical misogyny I experienced from the doctors was quite traumatic, as soon as I mentioned my mental health history the way I was treated changed. The pain I was experiencing became more about my mental health and less about my chronic illness. It’s very disappointing to see that the way the medical system treats women’s pain has not improved at all, I expected better but was let down.

I'm suffering from a very intense pneumonia at the moment, I was referred here after my GP thought I was getting worse. The entire process, from the nurses at triage there were 2 and both so lovely and helpful, to the team in the ED can't remember everyone's name but my doc was Dino and the nurse who took care of me longest was Abi was very smooth and high quality. I was investigated thoroughly, genuinely felt like everyone cared, and both me and my partner were supported while I spent about 7-8 hours in there before I was admitted to the ward. The ward team was also very supportive, the bed was comfortable and various members of the team checked in on me to make sure I had everything I needed. I had bad ED experiences in the past in Melbourne, but this was great. The food in the ED was... not so great, but I'll take it considering everything else.

Came in earlier today for my mother’s carpel tunnel surgery check-up in Building D. Greeted and attended by Elizabeth. One of the sweetest most smartest ladies ever. She gave us such great insight alongside booking in another appointment, all whilst teaching an intern. She needs a raise!nThank you so much. My mum insisted I left a positive review!!

I ended up at the emergency dept last night. The staff were fantastic from the minute i got there. They triaged me quickly, made sure I was comfortable, tests happened quickly, and I had nurses checking on me often and the dr clearly explained everything. Nothing but total appreciation for the care I received
