The only truly independent pub I know. Great selection of tap and bottle beer and not tied to any single brewery. Food is great value - get the curry of the day with half chips and half rice!

Great view. Good menu choice. Good food at reasonable prices. Large portions, friendly atmosphere. Good selection of drinks.

Very reluctant to write bad reviews, only doing it so to warn others. used to go to this pub often, but haven’t being in couple of years. Probably won’t be back as the food was atrocious, ordered our regular bangers & mash , it arrived all was smothered with very salty sauce, felt like it was just out of the packet or very very reduced. So ruined the meal completely. Same goes to the steak and kidney pie, pastry was undercooked , mash & peas was dry and felt like it was reheated several times. We are really not that fussy eaters so if this felt like uneatable for us it must have being bad. Left feeling sick after having half a meal which even the kids didn’t like...in the end we returned the pie and asked if there is being a mistake and if the pub changed the ownership in last few years because the food was great before. But being told it was their regular service and no changes being made...very sad.

Good pub grub and a wide range of British beers on tap or canned/bottled. A nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly bar staff.
