We had a wonderful dinner here last week.nFood and service was excellent!nThanks to Lizzie who looked after us throughout the night and recommended some very delicious menus.nThe restaurant was vibrant with lots of guests and still plenty of space for everyone.nNice outdoor area for young families with children and would be a great venue for our up coming summer!nnThe platter, pork belly, steak and the chicken schnitzel was our choice and could not fault a thing. Flavours and portion size was perfect. I love the Vietnamese salad that's paired with the pork belly, the steak was cooked to our liking and the platter had a variety of items that we could try without ordering it separately from the menu and also delicious.nnWe will be back!
01/02/2026 - Was initially excited to try this place since it had a child friendly area. I got a burger for $30 expecting something fairly amazing - instead I got a small burger with stale tasting buns, a rock for a meat patty, and cold brisket thrown in. My wife got the fish and chips, and used multiple napkins to try and soak up the oil - she ate one of the pieces of fish and then did not eat the rest. The fish was dry and powdery. The beer tasted like it was shaken and stirred or watered down Macs ginger beer and Tuatara. My wife was given a refund for the fish and chips, however I didn't complain about the burger at the time it was edible, but could've made something much nicer at home. Will probably give this place a miss next time.
5* for the tools down platter, burger just wasn’t quite there for the money and wouldn’t order again.nService by ‘Sunny’ was great and attentive and with the rugby on.. atmosphere was up there.
Went here today, made the drive out from East Auckland as we were looking for somewhere child friendly. We called on our way to book an outdoor table but were told they were first in first serve. However the table next to us had a reservation. The trampoline was also out of order. The service was also really lacking... the waitress forgot one of our drinks and also left someone else's dirty dishes on our table. The biggest positive from our visit would be the OUTSTANDING service from Kelly- she was amazing and from the moment we met her she was on the ball and was prompt in taking our orders and was always so accommodating to us, she was also the only friendly staff member we encountered. Overall very disappointed with our visit, but would definitely come back for Kelly's service and the overall atmosphere. Thanks again Kelly for your great service!
It would appear this place is under new ownership or something along them lines.nnThe quality of the food has dropped significantly , my advice would be to stay well clear of the Chicken Stips , I had a fresh batch cooked as the first batch were absolutely shocking , and the second batch was not much better.nnGiven the price of the food is what I would consider on the high side , the quality of the Chicken was absolutely shocking.....nnAlso they were serving Pints of Lager in warm glasses which must have just come out of the dishwasher , which was strange considering the place was extremely quiet at the time.nnWhilst they did agree to cook me a fresh batch of Chicken Strips , these were still not acceptable given the price paid.nnThe Mozzarella Sticks were edible , yet once again given the price certainly not worth it.nnSuch a shame as this place used to be decent , however the last 2 times I have been have led me to no longer wish to go again.
