Well, in our case, having to stock the products of just one brewery. Unlike most bars, which are ‘Tied Houses’, we can offer our customers the carefully crafted beers of independent brewers from all over the country.

We’re passionate about providing the best beer New Zealand has to offer. Even our name is a nod to the brewer’s noble art. A Tun is an insulated brewing vessel used in the mashing and lautering stages of beer making.

Like our beer, our food has been designed and prepared by people who care about their craft.

Which is why we only choose the freshest ingredients and make everything by hand, so you can enjoy the best New Zealand has to offer.

I visited 16 Tun mid afternoon.  The environment was pleasant and they had a big range of beers on tap.  They allow you to reserve a table and have good size tables that you can fit a group of people around.  They only had one person serving and there has a huge wait trying to get a drink.  As a result I had to nurse my drink so I didn't have to go through the pain of trying to buy another drink at the bar.

Great place to spend an evening, very cozy. These guys have an online menu of the beers they have on tap, so you can always see what’s in stock. The food is good, fries are delicious. The burger wasn’t bad as well, however it doesn’t say in the menu that the burger has chilli pepper in it, that was a surprise. The evening was spoiled by a drunk bunch of people thinking that they are at karaoke bar, shouting along with every song. Otherwise - worth a visit.

Great craft beers and atmosphere - prices for the samplers were pretty good in comparison to some places I've been. Fun spot - recommend you stop in for a flight!

The beer selection is the best in Auckland in my opinion. The atmosphere is good and last time I was there which was a Thursday night, they had a great DJ. However...I don't think the food is of a very high standard and is overpriced.

Amazing choice of beers and incredibly reasonable pricing on beer flights. Will definitely be back when I next visit Auckland!
