I could not speak more highly of Rutherford. I didn't really know what I wanted for an engagement ring and the highly knowledgeable and kind staff walked me through the whole process. In the end, I had the most beautiful engagement ring of the highest quality, exactly how we had talked about. I had a wonderful experience with the team at Rutherford, especially James, a few months ago when my partner and I had my engagement ring made.  I looked at quite a few reputable jewellers before choosing Rutherford. What really stood out for me was the genuine and welcoming way they dealt with their customers. I don't wear fine jewellery and am usually dressed very casually, so I probably don't look like a typical customer. I went into their Collins St and Block Arcade stores a number of times and each time was treated with the same attention as anyone else - which I have to say was unfortunately not the case for some other antique jewellers I visited in the CBD. The world of fine jewellery shopping can be daunting to a newcomer, but I felt very comfortable at Rutherford.  James was wonderful in helping us choose a stone. We went in a few times to look at diamonds before we decided, and on my request James even sourced some champagne diamonds for us to look at. In the end I decided I wanted an Old European Cut diamond, and Rutherford had a great range of antique stones for us to choose from. From there, I spoke with Laura to explain how I would like the stone set, and she sent me rough sketches before it was made by one of their jewellers.  The ring itself is just beautiful, just as I imagined, and I can't stop looking at it. Thank you Rutherford for making the experience such a wonderful one!

Also visited other jewelers, and came back to Rutherfords. These folk know pearls and prices were competitive. They worked hard to present affordable options for our budget, which we appreciated.

We went into Rutherford because they didn't have a guard at the door waiting to spear-tackle us, and the feel of the store front was a lot nicer than all the others along Collins St.  When we went inside we spoke with Karen and she was really lovely. Her and her colleague picked out some beautiful rings in our price range and one was a serious contender for an engagement ring.  Overall the experience was great and we would recommend going here if you're looking for some really nice jewellery.

I had a piece of jewellery that I had purchased a few years earlier from the store and returned to have it repaired by Rutherfords.  I was very pleased with the wonderful service provided and the over all outcome of the repair and would recommend this jeweller.
