Wow! Unclean is just the beginning! I don’t EVER write a review while still in my room but this was so extraordinary I felt it was necessary. It is a shame that only now, after checking in are we reading other reviews. Had we actually spent more time researching accommodation we certainly would not be writing this. To be quite succinct - had I had more info I possibly would have chosen the Y! Never have I seen such gross misrepresentation in the publicity/marketing of anywhere. Their weapon of choice is obviously a wide angle lens. Can I just say here, I questioned paying full room rates while our only view was that of scaffolding and planks of wood. Romantic i hear you ask, if you’re into pine and steel then yes - simply stunning. Unfortunately Andrew, our checkin guy did not see my point and kinda brushed me off. His exact comment was you don't book a room for the view! The point here is that the customer is supposed to be right. We are after all what keeps your business afloat. This is not a slight against Quest, we have stayed at other Quest locations with no issue however this was really the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. There is no excuse for charging full price when your entire building is swathed in scaffolding obscuring any real view. We move now to the info we got when booking. Unfortunately we booked through an external site which gave no notification of the (many) stairs our elderly (walker ridden) parents would have to negotiate on the way to their room. Not only are there stairs prior to the lift but more stairs exiting the lift and even more stairs in the actual room. Watch out for the killer step in the bedroom - surprised my parents did not break another hip. I could go on - but really I can not be bothered. I will never part with a single dollar to grace any of their hotels again. I will never recommend anyone stay there except under threat of violence. I can not put enough passion behind this without a stream of expletives, so do yourselves a favor and avoid this as you would the plague. Submitted some photos - the mould on the sink, a decrepit toilet roll dispenser barely hanging onto the wall and, of course, our "million dollar" view.

In dire need of maintenance and renovations. So many things in the room were broken including bin, door locks, light switches and window locks. Reception hours are very short, we never a tually saw a staff member at reception. Balcony looks unsafe and the balcony doors are very dangerous when the strong Wellington wind catches them and flings them open/closed. Lots of street noise. 2 elevators is also not really enough to serve the number of apartments.

Simply appalling no air con but when you open the window you're greeted by the noisy motorway next door ...but at least you have a great view of the motorway Simply appalling. ..dated. ... hot. ... no fan no aircon

Very average room. Light switch in the bathroom was broken, potentially very dangerous. No working fan or heater in the bathroom. We requested a room on the highest level they could give us and they put us on the first floor, so they clearly don't care about customer satisfaction. View from the room was one of a very busy motorway which kept us awake at night. They say they have a pool which is a big selling point but it is in fact located in a gym down the road, so it's not a private pool at all. Was extremely disappointed. Terrible experience.
