Great location, friendly staff and the room was nicer than I expected. Was very handy having a washer and drier in my room. There was some banging that was quite noisy I'm not sure where it was coming from but it wasn't too bad so I didn't bother to complain.

When I phoned to book for the Wellington festival I was told only one room left. Website said $168 a night got charged over $230. When booking in reception got 2 calls bookings people in saying to both it was the last room available! 1 hour of internet only! For the cost of the room! You have to book in before 5 or miss out as another couple did leaving them stranded for the night. Room was nothing special. Smelt musty. Curtains mouldy. Central to most shops but not a place to stay again. If the switch in the bathroom is off the lights by the bed don’t work.

My wife stayed there from the 1st Nov - 3rd Nov. The hotel itself was nice and the nightly rate was good and the room was pleasantly presented. The only criticism is the after hours check-in was appalling. The intercom system they have is useless it timed on numerous occasions, each time getting a different person who couldn't find her reservation. This was at night and to have a woman standing outside inner city for s long period of time is TOTALLY unacceptable. When she eventually got in she found her room key on the unattended reception counter. QUESTION: Did the intercom go to a call centre? They need to employ a night manager.
